Q: Will it shred wet leaves

Yes, the YF8000 will shred wet leaves. There is a control slide knob on the base section to select from wet to dry / course to medium. When shredding wet leaves, the reduction will not be as fine as with dry leaves, so the ratio could be 7:1 if the leaves are very wet and depending on the type of leaves. No! This is crappy shredder. Large leaves won’t shred! Now It is another crap in my garage

Q: Any tips on securing a yard waste paper bag? The round exit combined w/ the rectangular bag makes securing it with bungee cords awkward. Cut the bag?

Sorry for taking so long to answer but this is what I use. I’m like Jeff T using a trash bag except I use Glad Force Flex Tall Kitchen Bags (13 gal) 2’x2’1-1/8” .90 mil. I like it cause it’s tough enough to hold everything in there, it stretches so you can get it to fit the rim firm enough that I don’t have to always use the bungee cords, short enough so I’m not struggling to fluff the bag. The bad part is you need some patience in putting the bag on. If you hook it on to one of the lips & gently fit it around the rim then you’re good to go. I use my crushed leaves for my garden for compost so I tie the bags up & use when needed. Oh & I think cost wise these bags might be cheaper at Costco…I’m on a budget. Hope this helps.
