Two opposite soul, one explosive relationship
"Oh Johnathan."That first phrase in the book kinda threw me in a loop and make my knees goes weak. I'm so happy to find out that Songs of Corruption took place concurrently together with Songs of Submission, when Johnathan just met Monica.Theresa was supposed to be the proper lady. She had just ended a 7 years relationship with her cheating ex-fiance who was currently running for mayor. I hope that self-centered prick crashed and burnt. Theresa was an accountant for Hollywood and worked as a part time script writer for her friend, Katrina.Antonio Spinelli was an Italian, a lawyer, restaurateur, mechanic and etc etc. He was also involved in the Italian mafia activities. Although he did have some minions around, I had no idea of his true status or who he answers to or what are the things he did."He wore a suit like a woman wore lingerie, to accentuate the sexual. To highlight the slopes and lines. To give masculinity a definition."There was a insta-lust going on here during their first meeting at the Frontage lounge. Theresa can't stop thinking about him and he subsequently tried to seduce her for a date. I kinda love his Italian charm. He was so smooth and suave.Theresa was a feeling conflicted. Antonio was a total opposite of the type of men she would go for, he was a street punk, albeit a nicely dress one at that, but she can't denied that he was the first to make her feel truly alive. At the first half, despite the rushing of the relationship they have, which I don't mind the least, I really like Antonio. He was badass, elusive and an enigma. He appeared so proper, cool and composed, but deadly as well. He was my kind of mafia don, although he was just a capo."He was like my drug, and I would either get a hit or go into withdrawal, but I wouldn't abdicate my right to chase him."Can two people who are so different be together? The part that didn't work me would be the second half of the book onward. Antonio became a tad obsessive and possessive towards Theresa. I would have prefer he remained his cool. Seeing him losing his s*** is not so sexy. Anyway, that depends on how you view it, some women just love uber alpha male. But I had read too much of that already. All in all, I still like Spin and looking forward to the next one. Finger crossed that Antonio will just simmer down a little."This is wrong. We're wrong. You and I. One of us is going to get the other one killed."

Spin baby!
I'll admit Spin wasn't quite what I was expecting but then when you read the blurb what do you expect. But in admiring that I absolutely loved it, I can't wait to see how Antonio and Theresa's story unfolds and how things go down with spin's friends/enemies.
