Very bright XP-G2 LED; near pure-white cool hotspot beam with graduated medium spill.Seems to put out much more than the rated 250 lumens of light on max.This light is built like a tank. Small, 1" x 3.9", a great EDC light, customizable modes.Basically two major working modes. 1) Click on to access the preset rotary dial; momentary burst or strobe,2) Full burst preset (programmable) is always available, press & hold or 2 clicks from on, or dial it on rotary.The variable rotary control on the tail is very smooth and handy, preset from 0.2 - 250 rated lumens & adjust.Perfect for those that work in a low-light environment and don't want to ruin your night vision.You can also easily program / change positions / functions of the momentary burst / strobe on the dial.-Also has the cool undocumented Easter-egg "candle-like" mode enabled: (9 clicks from off).Uses (1) primary Lithium CR123 or an RCR123 rechargeable. (18650 or 2AA bodies available from the HDS site).Excellent battery life, as I find I only use the lower modes on the rotary dial the majority of the time.(I believe the run-time at full power is rated at 1.65 hrs. on a primary cr123).This Rotary does not come with a clip or lanyard, however there a many third party clip-ons available and you caneasily whip a lanyard on the throat of the light with a constrictor knot. I buy build quality and durability. I will pay a high price for assurances that I only need to buy the product once, and that it always functions as intended. I waited three years before posting this review. I don’t feel there is a better built, more functional or more reliable light. If you’re responsible enough to not lose it, the investment makes sense.

Still running on the battery it came with after a month of every day use. Can’t say enough. I have more than one light and not going to bore anyone with details or comparisons. Just get one of these at your first opportunity. Your other EDC lights will become irrelevant.

I have purchased a number of these lights for work to provide to my staff. They are without a doubt the best LED flashlights on the market. They are expensive. The support is awesome.

The magic of this flashlight is the rear rotary tail switch. It allows you to set the light at any brightness from zero to max. tactical push button on the rear turns light on and off. When you pick this light up for night use you can easily set it to low without getting some bright blast of light. Built like a tank 250 lumen led lights up the night. I wish it came in a high impact plastic so it could be used when working on electrified equipment.

this is the best flashlite hands down !it is smooth and handles like a dream there is no better lite that i know of this size and does all the many things this one does...andthe maker is always friendly and never gets mad how many times you call him so people say pricey but the cs is worth every dime you spend on it
