This is a great looking knight's outfit. For the price, the quality is excellent and it looks sharp when fully assembled. The size chart is right on and a size small fit my son perfectly with some room to grow. He is in the 6-8 range and this should fit most kids in this age range comfortably. It is a little stretchy so it can likely fit a lot of different body types. I would store this gently as I think most of the damage to this will be done when it is tossed around in a bin or bag. Once on, we didn't have any issues with it falling apart or any threads getting frayed. The belt is a little cheap, but doable. I would swap out the belt with any leather belt you have laying around or a rope maybe. My son didn't want to wear the boots or arm greaves, but they both look good when on. The boot covers are probably a little too baggy for most kids in the small size range, but a few paper clips would make it a quick fix on the fly. I highly recommend this outfit. ****This does not come with a shield and sword**** Still worth it for the price and most kids ditch the shield fast anyway. Other reviewers weren't kidding when they said just a tiny snag on the wrong thing (including the velcro that's on the wrist cuffs), causes the "chain mail" material to unravel. It really does snag easily. My son tried it on the night we got it, and in the 5 minutes he wore it, two places on the chain mail material got snagged on something and unraveled. He'll have to be very careful on Halloween not to brush up against anything rough. The chain mail is made from a woven silver metallic-looking material...the threads remind me of tinsel like you'd use on a Christmas tree. It looks great, but isn't going to be very durable long-term. Size-wise, the medium (8-10) fits him very well with lots of room to spare, without being too big. He's a tall but very thin just-turned-8-yr-old: 53" and around 60 lbs. The shoulders of the tunic are roomy and it's long enough without being too long; the sleeves are also long enough (they're 3/4-length sleeves with wrist cuffs that fit over them). The wrist cuffs are a tiny bit too big for him, but not so much that they don't stay on. I just have to watch the velcro patch on them that it doesn't snag on the "chain mail" sleeves. Included in this set is: the tunic with 3/4 sleeves, belt, headpiece, wrist cuffs, and leg cuffs that I think are supposed to look like tall black boots when worn over black shoes. You have to supply the shoes and the pants yourself. We are using black thermal long-johns for the pants, and black shoes.

Not super durable the silver fabric pulls really easy and the elastic that (I think) hooks under the shoes for the leg cuffs snapped after just awhile of walking outside but overall I just needed it as a Halloween costume and it served its purpose so it's all good and it arrived in a timely manner I think it was like the next day or two days after I ordered which was great and the tunic was super long but I think I just ordered a bit big, easy fix just tucked it inside and put the belt on. Overall not not terrible it's a nice looking costume just not durable for like dress up or anything would be fine for a play or Halloween.

I ordered this in a large for my 4'10", 70 pound 11 year old son. It fits him fine. Should fit him next year as well. It's a nice looking costume for the price BUT when reviewers complain that the material snags and runs easily- they are not exaggerating. I was conscious of this so I made sure my son was extra careful when he tried it on. I even took it off him myself so it wouldn't get ruined and sure enough it still snagged and there is now a noticable area on the front of the costume that is kind of ruined. Very disappointed.

My 5 year old loves this. It looks pretty cute on him, the xs is a little loose but I much prefer that to it being tight. For reference, my son is on the husky side, 43" tall, 46lbs & normally wears 5t-6 or XS in clothes. The sleeves are a good length, the tunic comes to his knees, the gauntlets are kinda big for him. The "chainmail" is a little itchy and has started fraying after a couple days of wear (he doesn't care). Overall, I'm really pleased, price was reasonable for the quality & my son really likes it.

My middle son wore this to Medieval Times dinner and looked so adorable! It does not come with the sword or shield but i might have realized that if I read the item details better. Happy with the outfit!

I ordered a small for my son who is 7 but wears a 6. The costume itself was pretty big on him but gives him plenty of grow room. The hood comes down further on him then pic, almost covering thre dragon on the front (which you can see in some of the listings pic, but not their main one). It is light weight and easy to get in. Since you don't get the sword or shield I do find it a bit over priced for what is similarly made to all other Halloween costumes at big box stores.

I bought two of these costumes for my grandchildren (girl age 4 and boy age 6) to wear on a "special" visit to Medieval Times. I bought a princess costume for my granddaughter, but gave her the choice of costume, and she wanted to be a knight. I purchased the x-small size for my granddaughter, but it was still big on her. However, I easily trimmed the gauntlets and shin guards for her since they're made of a leather-like vinyl that was easy to cut. (I also purchased sword/shield sets pictured with the costume.) The kids loved their "suits of armor" and were the hit of the evening with everyone who saw them. They wore lightweight long underwear underneath the costumes and didn't complain about any scratchiness mentioned by other reviewers, and I didn't see any "snags" at the end of the night either. For the price, these costumes were a bargain.

We ordered this for our eight year old. With very low expectations, we had nowhere to go but up. The head covering is really nice. Thin, fragile, but it looks fantastic. I was worried it might be hard to get the narrow part over his head, but it worked fine. The tunic is very nice. The wrist guards are a bit big and slide around, but some double sided tape will fix that. Likewise, the boot toppers are a bit big, but can easily be tightened with some tape or safety pins. Overall, this was excellent value for money. I was impressed with the quality. I don't think it would last long as a daily play costume, but I believe my younger son will be able to be a knight, or perhaps use this in a school play or dress-up day a couple times before it is spent. Wish it came with gloves made from the same fabric as the hat.

I ordered up a size and it's perfect. It's a decent quality costume that my 8 year old is thrilled with. If you intend it to be an all the time dress up costume I don't think the "chainmail" will be up to it. The chainmail hood etc is loosely woven metallic plastic. It catches on things easily. But for a couple of occasions a year.. Halloween and a Medieval Fair or 2 this fits the bill nicely. Does not come with sword or shield.
