Exide Ek131 Agm Motorcycles Battery 12 Ah

Fitted mercedes E220 2015 Estate Bluetec. I read the reviews for this battery and bought it on ebay after a "aux battery Malfunction" came up on my dash. The original battery was in my car and it was due to be replaced. I had to lift the cover out the way in the boot and the battery is located near the back of the boot bottom right of the ad blue tank. Removing the old one was straight forward with a 10mm socket. This battery does not come with the terminals having screw groves but two inserts. The screws were not long enough to reach the inserts but I used a cable tie to lift the inserts up to catch the bolt and then pulled the cable tie our. My original battery the vent pipe was not connected and tucked away somewhere and the hole on the original battery was on the side, the vent in this battery is at the back of the battery. Started the car and drove it and no more aux battery malfunction. Very happy.

Although the Amazon narrative said this auxiliary battery was compatible with my model of Mercedes car , my local garage has today tested this compatibility and found it is not as claimed! Consequently I have had to purchase a new battery which is compliant. Because of lockdown, and a recent spell in hospital I have not been able to get this test carried out earlier and now find I am 7 days past the return date! I have been a long-standing customer of Amazon (2003) and have had very few causes to return purchases or complain , but I am bitterly disappointed that the advice given on the Amazon site about compatibility is incorrect and as a result I am £65 or so out of pocket.

Die C-Klasse hatte keine Lust mehr die ECO Funktion zu aktivieren, Start/Stop war also tot. Hauptbatterie war i.O. blieb also nur noch die Stützbatterie im Kofferraum. Batterie wurde mit einem passenden Ladegerät vorher bearbeitet, daher wart sehr schnell klar das sie hin war. Dafür habe ich ein CTEK benutzt, welches über diverse Möglichkeiten verfügt, obendrein ist es ein Schritt den jeder selbst durchführen kann bevor man den Wagen in die Werft gibt für „Teuer Geld“. Neben einer Vielzahl anderer Werte sind auch die Spannungen der beiden Batterien Infos, die vom Steuergerät verarbeitet werden um die ECO Funktion zu aktivieren. Batterie getauscht und „ZackDonner“ es lief wieder.

The battery in itself is fine, though it obviously had been on the shelf for sometime as, on measuring voltage out of the box it was at 12.1V. Worse is the fact that the gas vent is on the wrong side and has a smaller diameter which means the Mercedes standard tube can’t reach it and in any case won’t fit because the Mercedes nozzle is wider. Furthermore, the terminals are not threaded, which means that extra (small, otherwise they will not fit) nuts are needed to be able to screw on the leads. Given the need to replace the gas vent tube, the screws and nuts, the nuzzle, etc., I will be unable to use it in my car. I recommend you buy the original Mercedes battery and save yourselves a lot of hassle.
