I have read many books on chakras. They have been information but just not enough of something. Now after reading Dr. Athena Perakis, I know know what was missing. She brings in not only the spiritual but the historical information as well. This book is reader friendly but will hold the interest of those that are already educated about chakras as she gives so much more. Dr. Athena Perakis has such a beauty with her written and spoken work and the illustrations are amazing. Each chakra is exquisitely explained as well as the crystals, oils, runes, planets, tarot and recipes corresponding to each chakra. This is a must have for all those who would like to have more balance and peace in their lives. The Ultimate Guide to Chakras, tune in to your chakras, the power centers connecting your physical body and the world of energy will make a perfect gift for all who would are just beginning to work on their chakras as well as those who are already working on balancing and aligning their chakras. I know that Dr. Athena Perakis has two more coming out soon, and I have already pre-ordered.

I've read MANY chakra books. I chose this one because I read her Blog, enjoy her writing style and respect the author as she is incredibly knowledgable. I was truly interested in her"take" on the subject, but I've read many books on this subject so I didn't expect to learn anything new - just get a fresh take on it. The illustrations are beautiful and the writing flows easily. I found myself slowing down my reading so I could really take in the info. This is how a "beginner" book should be written - this is how an intermediate book should be written - this is how an advanced book should be written. ALL levels will learn a plethora of new information. The material is easy to understand. I'm only a third of the way through the book and I'm amazed at how much I'm learning! Worth every cent but more importantly, so worth taking the time to read! Bravo ! Author! Author! Bravo!

Just got it yesterday...pre-ordered it as soon as it was available. I'm still reading it and will be for a long time. There is an amazing amount of info in there all laid out in a simple, sensible manner. Whether ur a beginner or experienced working with chakras, this is a complete guide. Each chakra has its own meditation, gemstones, rituals, even runes! You don't need to cross-reference other books or search for info, everything is laid out plainly and in easy to understand ways. It's like an encyclopedia and a how-to all in one. The artwork is exceptional. The art and colors of each section correspond with that particular chakra. Besides the chakra work, there's so much more...working with deities, offerings, rituals...it's amazing the amount of knowledge Athena was able to condense into one book, without losing any of the history. I feel like it gives the reader a very strong knowledge of chakra work but in a concise yet all-inclusive way. It's a brilliant piece of writing with amazing art. I def recommend this book to anyone looking to learn about chakra work or the fundamentals of metaphysics and energy.

This is an awesome book!! There are explanations of the chakras and exercises to activate energy flow, questions for reflective journaling, and correspondences for each chakra (deities, gemstones, tarot, runes, essential oils and herbs, and planets). And a very deep and beautiful treatment of each of those topics for each chakra. The photography is what grabbed me first -- it is stunning. The artistic illustrations are lovely as well. But best of all from my perspective is the level of scholarship, and I also love the recipes for offerings, crafting, incense, perfume, and more. The whole book is aesthetically so beautiful -- the pages are large and satiny, the colors are intense and lovely, and even the font is chosen carefully. The author's attention to detail is woven throughout this book. Don't miss this one!

I’m a Hindu, and I’ve studied Angel Therapy as well. In the book Perrakis says the left side of the body is the male side, giving side. In Hinduism and Angel Therapy the left side is the feminine side , receiving side, and the male side is the right side. I’m thinking maybe she combined different aspects of other belief systems. However, as far as Hinduism this is incorrect. I really bought the book for the Goddesses for each chakra. It’s a great source of information, but I’d NOT let this be my stand alone book for chakras . Do your research, and factor in at least two more books to check facts. I have 7, and I’ve been studying chakras for a few years now. Also, the print could be a bit bigger. Overall, it’s a good book, with exercises , prompts, essential oils, crystals, goddesses for each chakra, rituals, and I like that she focused on the earth and soul star chakras which I think are another two major chakras worth discussing. The Earth Star helps ground us to Gaia, the Soul Star is how we receive our divine information, downloads, etc. Just don’t let this be your stand alone guide, factor in other books/ research to check information. Hope this helps.

It is so amazing and helpful when all the information you need is in one spot. This book holds all the information to get you started with learning about the chakras, connecting, and working with them. From essential oils, herbs, DIY ideas, mantras, guided meditations, archetypes, to the meanings with tarot, runes, and planets . . . just wow. The exercises are practical and easy to follow and the conclusion of channeled information is just a beautiful way for a teacher to share even more, to inspire more thoughts and ideas. I pre-ordered my book and was not disappointed. Some have complained about the text. I have to say that it's really not a big deal. I think what makes it so hard is the fact that some areas have really big font compared to the "heavier" reading areas that are smaller. I had not difficulty reading the information. There are a few typos but it doesn't take away from the information.

I am a Nurse Practitioner, so I have a traditional medical background. I do believe, however, that there is a mind-body connection and maybe even something more. Chakras and chakra healing is a new concept for me and I'll admit I have found it a difficult subject to grasp. I have attempted to read web articles and other books on the subject without much success. I discovered Athena through her Facebook business page Sage Goddess and enjoyed her teaching style so I figured maybe this book would make the material easier to grasp. It was. This is a great book for beginners and probably even those more familiar with the subject. The book is beautifully written and explains not only what chakras are, but how to work with them and even what tools to use. The artwork is amazing too.

This book truly is the ultimate guide to chakras. I highly recommend this book for anyone who may be just getting started with chakra work. Dr. Perrakis goes well beyond explaining each chakra, she has also included information such as corresponding goddesses, essential oils, crystals and even recipes! And she has done so in a way that (as a beginner and a new mom who doesn't have a lot of time to just sit down and read an entire chapter or two) I find very easy to follow. I also really enjoy how the book is broken up, beacause as I said, I don't have a whole lot of time to just sit and read. It would actually make for an excellent coffee table book! The artwork alone would be enough to make anyone want to pick it up and flip through; it's an absolutely stunning book! I will say, however, that I (like most, it would appear) do find the small font a bit frustrating. Not all of the font is small, but at least 60% of it is. Like I said, a bit frustrating but not enough to deter me from reading it or recommeding it to someone.

What a fantastic book about Chakras. The Ultimate Guide to Chakras has enlightened me so much, its totally worth every dollar! I highly recommend this book, if you are new to it or think you know all about Chakras, this book will teach you something new about yourself. Beautiful illustrations and easy flowing pages of well written information about Chakras. Thank you Dr. Athena Perrakis, I am so glad I have it in my library.

I finally got it but haven't had the time yet to dwelve into it.

There is an awful lot of information in this book and it is heard to concentrate on all of it but it is very informative and doesn't leave anything out
