So much slip! Smells amazing. Working this product through damp hair feels very nice. When I'm being lazy, it will go quite well in completely dry hair unlike any other hair gel I have ever tried. This is different and I cannot find anything like it. I have tried because this price point is wild. But it's so good that I will buy this again and again forever now. I've been complimented on the scent. I am not a girly girl. I do not buy luxury priced products. I'll switch and swap brands with every other toiletry. I'll use shampoo as body wash, shaving cream, face wash, and even the smudge on the wall in the shower-wash. I've finally simply discarded all of the other inferior hair gels and mouses and hair sprays that I hate using. I'm too spoiled to bother with them now. I don't even like the other Moptop hair gel type products since trying this. They smell just as good and work or whatever, but seriously, there is nothing else like this. It is worth the money. It would be worth it at a higher price point. I would be so annoyed if it cost even more, and I would pay it and use this daily anyway. I'm not even stingy with quantity when I use it. Give me more. I don't particularly like that it's in a tub, but I'd still buy it and brag about it if it came in a ziplock bag. It deserves that never heard of six stars out of five. Oh, holy grail product is what others are calling it. Yes. That. And it's overall rating is a solid four stars. That gives me new perspective on what other amazon items might be very worth trying if this is only four stars. @other reviewers that left the glowing reviews that convinced me to try the curly hair custard, thank you ♡ oh, it's lightweight hold, extremely detangling, leaves hair soft and bouncy, not crunchy. I have 2a or 2b curls.

I have very fine spiral curls and was looking for a replacement when Garnier Fructis discontinued their curl treat jelly/gelee. I have tried many products while also trying not to break the bank. Mop Top is the closest I have come to a viable option. It’s a tad too heavy but so much better than anything else I have tried! I love its super light scent and that it has hardly any oils. It gives me a nice cast and after my curls are dry and I break the cast, my curls have marvelous definition and are soft to the touch! I live on the Oregon coast and deal with the dryness of salts in the air and also high humidity. Mop Top has held up well in these conditions. I do sometimes use a leave-in conditioner. And I almost always use it in combination with a curl cream. I seam to have found the best combination for my curls in a variety of weather and conditions. If I am in a dryer climate I use less Mop Top and more cream but at the coast I use more Mop Top. I would and have recommended it to other curly girls. I also only shampoo my hair about once a month and with only a dime sized amount of shampoo, I condition my hair almost daily. But if I am simply rehydrating my curls with lavender water and a little more Mop Top and a little more cream, i have been happy with it. But due to the fineness of my hair, I can only go one day without fully rinsing my hair. I hope this helps you other curly girls on your journey!

My daughter has long, curly hair. I forgot how curly it is until I got this for her to try. It works best if she uses it multiple times in a row after hair washings since it's best to use when hair is wet. Her hair went from sort of curly and pretty but frizzy which is why she asked for help controlling it; to long shiny ringlets and waves. It's soft and gorgeous. So yes, this definitely works and I'm curious what it'll do to my short haircut now, lol... But I didn't anticipate just how small the tub would appear. So really, it's like it reminds you with every usage to only use a small amount. We got smoother curls with air drying vs using a diffuser-hair dryer. So depending how long it takes hair to dry typically or how you want the curls to look (they look lovely either way) you have to accommodate for that before needing to leave the house. It's worth the cost though even though it'sa small tub. And now she wants the shampoo and conditioner so that's going to happen. Oh, but this texture is really like custard but once it's in the hair it just blends into the way hair as you spread it and smooth it in. And you open the tub and it smells like lemonade. Mmmm

I'm a repeat purchaser for this product. I’ve been using the MopTop Curly Hair Gel Custard for several months, and I’m honestly impressed. It defines my curls really well without leaving them stiff or crunchy. My hair feels soft and moisturized, even the next day, which is a huge plus. It’s lightweight, so it doesn’t weigh my curls down, and it helps control frizz while keeping my curls bouncy and touchable. I usually scrunch it in after washing and let my hair air dry, and the results are consistently soft, shiny curls. This gel really makes styling easy, and I’d definitely keep using it as part of my curly hair routine.

Update: after using up the jar, I'm giving it 3 and 1/2 stars (and as there's no half, it's 3 stars). I was all set to give it 4 stars when I tried Biolage All Purpose Styling Gel and decided by comparison it fares a bit worse off. Biolage offers better hold (though both are medium-hold) and is sold in a larger bottle (it's $.70/oz. less expensive). Moptop works rather well for me ONLY if followed up with a hair spray. My favorite combination so far is with W8tless Hairspray by Rusk. I also have to use a lot; none of that "glaze" or "scrunch it in" approach here: I cover every lock of hair with some gel and brush it through, scrunching with a tee-shirt to get the excess out once I've finished a section. Once all my head is done, I add hairspray and then diffuse. Unlike hard hold gel, it leaves hair soft and shiny yet prevents almost all my frizz though again, though it does need the spray to keep my waves from drooping and encourage the best definition. The overwhelmingly sweet smell is still way too much. --- First and foremost, it has a fantastically strong scent: very much like artificial candy. If you're sensitive to strong fragrances, I don't recommend it. It also comes in a jar, so it travels well but application means scooping up gobs of product with your fingers. If you're looking for lighter hold and definition (i.e. you're curly rather than wavy) then this might be more to your liking. I have thick, coarse, wavy hair and this didn't offer as much as i wanted. I suppose if I added more of this product, I might get some decent hold -- I'll update as I continue to use it. This time around I added a layer of mousse and a light layer of Rusk's W8less hairspray but Giovanni's L.A. Hold Styling Gel remains my favorite.

I'm not an avid reviewer....I should be better with it, but oh well...if it's important, I will 100% review it to help folks out with deciding....so...I literally Have HORSE (like) HAIR...no joke, ladies...I am every beauticians NIGHTMARE....its long, it's naturally curly, and to top it off, they are...well, cork screw shaped.... BEAUTIFUL, but with that comes the headache of what products to use...some are heavy and weigh my cork screws down, some are 2 light and a waste of money. I've been trying just about anything...from $ to $$$...I even mix and match things to keep those curls in shape, bouncy, and not kinked up, frizzy, or looking like a hot mess, and not have to use a 1/2 can of "big sexy hair" haispray, and my head feels like it's been dipped in cement....only vinegar gets that stuff out, as you curly divas know, and surely feel my 🫤 It was Prime Day, and this popped up as I was digging for something new to try...read reviews...ok, why not....$15 , what's there to loose ? Ladies...it arrived today, and naturally I had to try it immediately ! Being that my hair is long, the dime size recommended qty to use, is of no use to me, and made me laugh....I need gallon sized jugs of eveything for my Mane 🤭 I applied to towel dried hair, and about 7 dimes sizes run through I felt I was adequately covered from root to tip. Now on to the blow drying.....I always use a diffuser, and it's head down @ss up while drying my hair.....I let the diffuser do its job, not crunching the curls, just drying....bc, it is true, curls r friends, they stick together....and once I raised my head, and worked on sides and back of head, I peeped in the mirror.....OMG🤯....my curls...they look alive...they r not dragged down, and...wow...hair is shiny. Not greasy at all. It smells AWESOME...and looks even better !! So, to those of you whom suffer like me with the quest for ONE thing to apply to hair to style--🤔 THIS IS IT !! Once it dried, I immediately went on here, ordered another one, and put it on auto delivery every 3 weeks, to not run out -EVER....this is like magic in a jar, amd though 1 jar will last me only 2 or maybe 3 weeks, it's ok, and worth every penny !! I am so happy with the results, it's ridiculous 🤗🥰 and my curls look super sexy and alive now....Whooo-hooo !! There's nothing better than finding something that works...and this is IT !!

I have been using this curly hair custard for years, and it is the absolute best for keeping frizz away and my curls defined. It provides a soft, touchable hold without feeling heavy or sticky. The product works great on my wavy to curly hair, and a little goes a long way. For best results, I apply it to very wet hair and then scrunch out the light cast once it is dry, which leaves my curls super soft and bouncy. It plays well with my other leave-in products, and the pleasant citrus scent is lovely during application but fades quickly. If you want defined, frizz-free curls that still have movement, this is the one to get. It’s a longtime favorite for a reason.

This is the third time my wife is buying this product and she is very happy with it..says is very light weight and doesn't feel like you are wearing any gel and yet gives very defined curls naturally

Very good product for wash and gos on coily, kinky (widely termed type 4) hair. I’ve used it as a one and done product as well as with my favourite gels like Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic and it’s fantastic.

The product reached me with a broken seal inside. Not sure whether the one I got is the original product or not. Disappointed because of lack of professionalism and unreliable service, for the huge money spent!!!!!

This product was hyped up by curly hair influencers. It did not disappoint.
