Not Programable 0/10
The lock awful. It's not reprogrammable at all, and can only be used with the tags that come with the product, not with any of the most common or most available NFC tags. At best, it's false advertising. I've refunded mine the day it arrived.

Modification for non flush mount nightstand
I Like the lock. I intended to mount this on the bottom drawer of my nightstand, I didn’t even attempt to mount it on the top drawer. I also removed the top drawer so I could see what I was doing. I have a night stand with space over the top of the drawer, it’s not flush which is what this lock would be perfect for. So, I had to modify it a bit to make it work for me. First, I mounted the battery box on the inside of the drawer making sure to mount it as high as I could get it but still clear the horizontal drawer support beam that separates the top and bottom drawer so the drawer would still close. Second, I screw it in, single screw worked ok, it was braced against the side of the drawer. Third, I inserted the locking loop into the battery box so I could see where it was going to be mounted on the wood brace I was going to install to hold it. I used a 1x1 and cut an angle on both sides to sit flush on the side of the night stand and the front below the top drawer. With the drawer closed (and the locking loop in the battery box) I could see how far back the locking loop was going to have to be mounted on my wood support 1x1. I cut the angle for the side of the night stand support and then went back and measured before I cut the angle for the front side making sure I had the length appropriate AND (most important) the the wood support went DIRECTLY over the top of the locking loop, that’s where you need to screw it in! There’s a little bit of wiggle room here. With the battery box installed, and the locking loop inserted into the battery box and sticking out where it needs to be attached, I pretty much placed the support 1x1 over the locking loop making sure it was flush on both the front and the side of the nightstand. I then held the support and locking loop with one hand while I open the drawer with the card. I messed with it a few times to make sure it opened and closed smoothly as I held the support and loop in place. I marked inside the drawer where the support was. I then lifted out the Support with the locking loop in place. I flipped it over and screwed it in exactly where it was. I then put the support back inside the drawer over the top of the bottom drawer, inserted back into the battery box at the appropriate level, and used a Brad nailer through the outside of the nightstand to secure the word support. You can see the two small nail holes on the front of the drawer, it doesn’t bother me. To mount of the way I did you need a few extra tools which I understand most people wouldn’t have. I happen to have them all and it worked for me. Kinda fun to figure out. Hope this helps and it’s not too confusing for those who have a situation like mine that’s not exactly a flush mount. As I said, I like the lock! This is not a super heavy duty you aren't getting in my drawer any way lock. Great deterrent and will be great for kids.

Simple to install and perfect for a lidded storage ottoman.
Cool gadget... I was looking for ways to lock up tools and electronics in a dorm room. Bought some ottomans and thought these looked much more fun than keyed locking hardware. Bought two sets to give it a shot. Each came with three cards and three fobs. Bought batteries (separately) set up the master fob and added the same to both locks. Very easy to program, I quickly added all cards and fobs to operate both locks. Once we played with those for a while we decided to install. There were no instructions but installation was very easy to figure out. The locks came with all the hardware needed for a full install. We used a drill with bit and chalk as the only tools. For the chest, we first found the height needed for the device. Then, installed the battery box to the side wall. Chalked the back of the piece that needed to attach to the lid. This gave us exactly where it needed to be to fit and lock. Tried it a few times to make sure we aligned it correct and then tightened it. Probably ten minutes or less to install with the most time just rechecking we had it in position. As a bonus the card and fob both work through the wood wall of the ottoman. My son put the card in his wallet and slid it next to it to unlock and worked every time. Bottom line, we didn’t have to drill through anything. One box came with a sticker to add on the outside as a target to know where to set your rifd device. But that would alert folks to the fact there is stuff in these. These have just been installed so I do not know about the life of the units... who knows we may be cursing these down the road, if they fail to open. So far so good. As far as how tight... my son was able to pick up the entire ottoman by grabbing the lid and the lock didn’t open. Completely loving the ease of install and adding a fun gadget to a boring ottoman that will be a dorm room foot locker.
