After several weeks of using the PLAUD NotePin AI device, I’ve found it to be an invaluable asset in managing and organizing information efficiently. Excellent! I love this - small and user- friendly! The AI feature for transcription summaries is also great. I am not easy to impress, and this is a great product. Also, I am very impressed with the customer service, they were quick to return my messages and offered a resolution to my issue without any problems.

I like this PLAUD NotePin now that I’ve worked out the glitches but it was initially very frustrating for me.CHALLENGES:Minimal written instructions were included in the box. The app isn’t much help either but the website is better.Charging: The NotePin arrives with a magnetically attached back cover that’s difficult to notice. This cover needs to be removed prior to setting the pin on the charger.Firmware Update: My NotePin arrived fully charged and the app indicated that a Firmware Update was available. The pin needs to be charging for the update to download. Since the pin was fully charged, it would not charge so I recorded for a few hours to run down the battery. After that, the NotePin started charging and allowed the update to download. Apple products consistently download updates without any complications so it took a very long time for me to figure out that the NotePin’s full charge was the problem.During a firmware update, it’s necessary to keep the app open and not allow it to switch to the background. This required monitoring on my part but it only took a few minutes for the download to complete.POSITIVES:This device has a sleek design that arrived in perfect condition with very cool packaging.I recorded a portion of a YouTube video. The recording clarity was excellent! The transcription was fair but the video included three people talking over each other. The summary that PLAUD provided was excellent! It accurately outlined the main points without error.I use Apple products and was able to easily export the transcript and summary as TXT. It can also export as SRT, DOCX and PDF through airdrop, message, mail and notes. I was able to access the transcription and summary in a ‘Text Edit’ format and print them from there. PDF would have worked as well.IN CONCLUSIONThis is a well made, discrete recorder with excellent AI summaries. The transcription functions well if the discussion is orderly and the transcription and summary can be uploaded and printed out. I deducted a star due to the frustration related to charging and the firmware update.

I've carried about every kind of recorder made as a newspaperman. This tiny device works better than any other ones I've used for capturing dialog under some pretty gnarly conditions. I'm still learning the interface, but the recorder does a great job.The day it arrived, I had the unpleasant task of meeting with an ICU staff to decide the fate of a friend of mine who was in dire straits. Two of us had her medical power of attorney and had to make some hard choices to honor her wishes. Two healthcare practitioners were in the room, and we had the other POA person on a conference call with her mother.I pushed the button, not sure I was doing it correctly, but when I got home, it had captured most of the conversations better than expected. Being able to go back over the conversation helped us make the decision to follow her directives that she would rather die than have a life without independence and no chance of improvement.I had also used another digital recorder that was my previous favorite. The NotePin out-performed it.It's going to take me some time to master the AI process, but the recorder is worth the money.

I had the credit card style Plaud and now I have this model. It does a masterful job transcribing my meetings and I use it to help me organize and summarize these encounters.

Love this! Records very clearly, and helps me remember things most of all! I have to chart things so I’m able to record them to my plaud and then have a summary of what I have charted later!
