Upgrade(4K)Dir. Leigh Whannell4/5Upgrade is a 2018 Sci-Fi horror film. Starring Tom Hardy Look-A-like Logan Marshall-Green. Playing Gray a man who gets in a car accident with his wife. She is k*lied and he is left quadriplegic. Until a mysterious billionaire offers to give him an upgrade. Amazing fight scenes and brutal gore. This movie is one to watch. It's also funny and has a dash of subtext thrown in. The 4K also looked amazing. Way better looking than when I first saw this. The budget for this was $3 million. You really can't tell at all.

It is pegged as sci-fi but may not be as much fiction as you think. It offers a look into too much merging of humans and technology. Such is why uncontrolled AI isn't doing mankind any favors. Pretty good flick with some twists and worth watching.

This was definitely worth 5 stars.

I don't want to spoil the movie so I will just say I have mixed feelings and emotions. One thing for sure is that I will want to see this movie again.

Elon Musk: "Humans must merge with machines or become irrelevant in AI age..." (Beware of Musk)Upgrade is a very well made Dystopian tale , warning of the existential threat posed by humans merging with AI technology - known as Transhumanism. Notwithstanding that the AI technology is intially intended to benefit mankind ....or is it its true intention ? (Enslavement/human extinctiin?) This seems to be the complex questions that are raised when delving into "upgrading" human beings.Once the AI chip is implanted into our protaganist it becomes clear that he has become the host of a self conscious AI that refuses to be subordinate to its host . All along it turns out that the AI was running everything: able to manipulate, and control all the humans through its ability to predict human behavior and reaction.At any rate although Act I was a bit unpolished and clunky , the rest of the film more than made up for it .The message of this film should not be taken lightly. Suprised it came out of US cinema.This is an Anti transhumanist message against merging AI into human bodies .STEM IS NOW IN CONTROL OF YOUR BODY - you've been forewarned !!I was surprised that an intelligent film came out of Hollywood compared to all the other mindless low IQ trash . Buy this film !

This movie kicks butt.

Nicht nur ein „Hau drauf“-Film. Die Story verändert sich während dem Film und macht ihn äusserst spannend. Ein Mann ist nach einem Gangster-Angriff querschnittsgelähmt und seine Frau tot. Er kriegt eine Chance auf eine Art Cyborg-Upgrade, aber nichts ist wie es scheint … den Rest müsst Ihr selber schauen!

'Upgrade.' in 4K HDR isn't a night and day difference from the 1080p SDR blu ray but with the HDR and the (very subtly) improved sharpness and resolution, I think it's worth the upgrade.

Hi, this movie could be seen to be many person's guilty pleasure. A very well-conceived relatively low budget sci-fi thriller featuring Logan Marshall Green from Prometheus as a quadraplegic who gets a second chance at life when he is fitted with a micro-chip at the back of his head by a friend of his who runs a computer chips company. After he is fitted with this chip he goes on the rampage trying to find those whom are responsible for his condition and for the murder of his wife in similar conditions. The money has been spent in the right areas ensuring production design, acting, action and effects make it seem like a bigger budget film. An excellent result and one of the sleeper hits of 2018.
