OBVIS Remote Control for Xbox One/Xbox One S/X Replacement Wireless Multimedia IR Console

I was only looking for a controller for my Xbox One for when I watch movies, just to save on the wear and tear on my normal controller. I didn't need this controller for my TV or sound system, just for movies on the Xbox One and nothing more. Because of that, I went for the cheapest controller I could find, and what a disappointment. It only has about a 10 foot range, tops; and, it absolutely has to be pointed DIRECTLY at the Xbox. The narrowness of the beam was the deal breaker. You seriously have to be straight on, directly looking at the Xbox, otherwise it doesn't work. My Xbox is on a shelf below my TV, at about knee level. That means I have to hold this controller down at the same knee level height as my Xbox and be straight on directly looking at my Xbox in order for it to work. I ended up eating the money I spent on this controller and purchasing a more expensive one. Should have read the reviews first and saved myself the money.

The media could not be loaded.  *Ergonomic? 50/50... The latter "50%" would imply that the remote is not so comfy to use IF USED AS A CONTROLLER instead of a remote.PRO(s):- ZERO pairing/programming required to use!- Instantly able to control tv (if user's XB1 settings allow) including volume, channels, and even "input" on our "Smart" Roku-TCL tv & switches between Roku & XB1 when remote is used to power on the XB1.- Lightweight & comfortable yet sleek design- Easy to "understand" buttons (almost exactly as seen on the controllers)- Use with other XB1(s) instantaneously by simply taking the remote to any other [additional] console setups (keep documented minimum distance in mind) without the annoying process of pairing!CON(s):- not durable against toddlers or puppies...- signs of battery depletion can show very suddenly (as opposed to most tv remotes for example)- no warranty or guarantee included- not "brandname" and uses same overall design/button layout as other aftermarket suppliers use, so it's helpful to remember the brand listed on the page purchased (just in case)--- I tried shooting a short video which (unfortunately) was much harder to record by myself with a Samsung Galaxy that looks like it was mauled by a bear with food poisoning... I wanted to at least show the volume control and buttons' ease of use/response times. While it's clear to see a couple hiccups, it's nothing compared to the irritation of using a game controller to browse streaming apps or just change a darn channel. ---

I mainly bought this remote for my bedroom to watch movies and for the price, it's ok. The buttons are squishy and have to push them multiple times to get it to function. I've notice it only works when you point the remote DIRECTLY at my Xbox. It's ok for now, will update once I use it more often.

I have literally tried ALL of them now. The "official" PDP one, the new updated version with fewer buttons, and now this. They are all terrible! Horrible battery life on this one, terrible signal can't even work when its pointing directly at my xbox but at an angle, and the buttons take way too much pressure to work.If you have to have a remote for your xbox, the PDP is better but also terrible. You can use a Harmony but for me its overkill and overcomplicated. Microsoft needs to step in and make a rechargeable remote with proper simple design.

Item lags horribly. Something about it the Fire Stick doesn't like. Sometimes it just stops, then after you click a half dozen times trying to get it to respond it will connect again and send all those commands at once. Horrible remote. Likely under-powered. Don't bother buying to replace your fire stick remote, just save yourself the time and replace the whole fire stick and get a new remote with it. Fire Stick Remotes are so expensive to replace they just aren't worth buying alone, and cheaper options like this simply don't work.

Did not work. I stood at various distances. Tried various batteries and pointed it directly at the IR sensor. Nothing. It’s gonna cost me more trouble than it’s worth to send it back as I live in a small town in the country and we have to take our outgoing mail to the post office. I’d have to drive 30 mins away to buy packaging to return the product and print the return label and drive 30 mins in the opposite direction to go to the post office.Don’t waste your money

This is a good option for the XB1. Not the greatest, but it does the trick. It works, but has a tendency to double-click commands or not recognize some button presses. It also desperately needs a perfect line of sight to your Xbox in order to operate correctly.All that said, it still beats having to use the controller for simple operations when using the Xbox as a streaming console.Overall, not bad, but you get what you pay for.

I do like that this remote does work with the X-Box and I no longer am going through controller batteries like a gaming fiend, esp since I am not one and use the X-Box for all my TV watching. What bugs me a bit is that you have to have great aim for the remote to work. It does not have the "hit a button from any angle/height/location capabilities that the controller has. It does work though once you find that sweet spot. You just have to only use it from that sweet spot.
