Love it!
My kiddos were always asking about parts of the body, so this was a fun thing for my kiddos to start learning about the human body. It’s easy to use, fun for my kids and they love seeing the different colors, they are most interested in the veins. Easy to store in a drawer, it’s worth the price!

Great educational game
My grandson could not get enough of this game. It’s so awesome to him for him to be able to name the different parts of the anatomy. My daughter was happy, she likes me to give him educational games. Will definitely buy again.

It is so close to perfect
My 5 year old is so interested in the human body, especially the skeleton, but I was having a hard time finding resources that showed genitalia in a way that I felt was age appropriate (most other resources dont even mention it). This has been PERFECT for that. She loves doing the puzzle and we love that it goes layer by layer through body. I also didn't realize it was magnetic and can stand up so that was a pleasant surprise. My only reason for not giving it a 5 star review is the packaging. It's a wooden tray which I love BUT it could really benefit from having a lid. Besides that one point this toy is so much fun. Perfect for a fun way to approach anatomy lessons with little ones for any kiddo who is interested in the human body

Toddler loves & immediately learned the word shoes!
Absolutely obsessed! Very picky kid loves putting the pieces on and as he does I use short description and he immediately picked up on the word shoes. It makes learning fun for him.

Homeschool anatomy lesson
I homeschool my kiddos and this was the perfect addition for our anatomy unit. My eldest is using a squishy guts model and we got this Melissa and Doug magnetic “toy” for our four year old whom we are starting preschool for. The lesson was a hit! This is a toy that we will revisit numerous times to cover all the different systems. I picked it because it’s anatomically correct and wanted an age appropriate way to discuss the male and female parts. Like others have mentioned, this needs a lid!!!! Seriously! I’m considering getting a letter tray so that we can sit this horizontally to avoid losing parts while still maximizing space. That way, we can use the other letter tray slots to hold other similar non-lided wooden toys and puzzles. I also wonder if Melissa and Doug’s wire puzzle rack holder would work for this. I may look into getting oneIf this review was helpful, please leave a thumbs up 👍🏼Update on June 1, 2021: The largest Melissa And Doug wire rack designed for chunky puzzles will NOT accommodate this anatomy set. It can only accommodate puzzles up to 3/4” in thickness. The anatomy puzzle is about 1-1/8” thick. I measured. I still haven’t figured out an ideal storage solution. They should REALLY come with lids 😑 It’s been a few years since this purchase and we’ve managed to keep up with all the pieces, even after a cross country move. But we’ve had some close calls. My then 4 year old is now almost 6 and she still uses this. I have a 2 year old now and a 2 month old. So it will continue to get lots of use. Therefore, I’m still contemplating the best way to store this when it’s put away. I can somewhat squeeze it into a Tall clear shoebox container from The Container Store (the ~$5 one) but only if I really push it in. I never got a letter tray to store it on because it doesn’t address my need for a lid. So for now, the shoe box from The Container Store will have to do. And when it’s in use, it just sits on a bookshelf (Montessori style).

If you're not ready to talk to your kids about the human anatomy, don't bother.
I really enjoyed this learning tool. Melissa and Doug did a great job of maintaining transparency when introducing the reproductive organs. I think it would have been foolish for them and confusing to children to show the uterus or testes, only for the next magnet to display an ambiguous nub. Children from a young age will have a healthy and age-appropriate curiousity about their own bodies. Because of this, my child got an opportunity to see that female bodies and male bodies are different and what the purpose of those differences are. It lead to a great discussion (which means I'm comfortable with the topic) and my child's better understanding of their body and the bigger picture of the many marvels of the human body. If you are a prude and the photos of other reviewers of this product are bothersome to you, please don't buy it. Your child may enjoy learning about the human body, but you may not be ready for their questions.
