I see your lava rocks and I raise my glass
It's broken glass that I put in my rather large propane fire pit. I bought 20lbs of clear and 40 lbs of the black. It looks way better than the lava rocks that came with the pit. At the end of the season, I throw on some leather gloves and scoop out all the glass to store in a couple of plastic pails. I vacuum the fines and then put the pit away. Important tip: When using this stuff, you need to leave the top of the ignition/thermocouple box exposed to air or the flame will not work. (Expose at least as much as shown in the image.)

Just what I was looking for.. nice big pieces and looks so modern.. not going to be burning it for the moment so I can’t judge the heat capability but it is serving it’s purpose for now. Only needed one bag for my fireplace.

Product does darken/blacken unlike what they say!
I purchased this product which is a great price and looks awesome! I installed it in the firepit (gas) on April 25th. Yesterday was May 6th and the product (blue and clear) is starting to darken/blacken. The product description says it would not do it. Surprise!! It did! My initial order was $160 dollars, 4 bags at 40 dollars, and have 2 more bags coming tomorrow. I had some bare spots so I needed more. I wish I would have seen this before ordering again! Buyer beware!! This product does not stand up like they say it does! I called Amazon to see what could be done, they advised me to leave a review.

Pretty when lit up
These are pretty if you want a natural look as opposed to colored rocks. Edges are sharp so be careful when handling.
