Easy to install and works well as a low-cost deterrent. I only needed half of the rubber padding. I was able to just rip it with my hands (no additional tools needed). It allows my helmet to sit comfortably on the tank, which is fine. This is on a Harley Davidson XG750.

I tried to install this on the handlebar of a 2025 Honda Rebel 100 DCT and it didn't really fit. The rubber insert made it just a bit too big. I had some spare black EVA foam around and made a thinner spacer and now it fits and doesn't move. As for the lock itself...it's acceptable. It feels solid enough. Can someone cut the helmet wire? Yeah, they can. Can they probably lock pick this thing pretty easily? I bet they can. I bet you can shim it really easily actually. That doesn't concern me because it's mostly there to just make sure someone cannot grab the helmet and run off with it and I think it does that pretty well. It's going to deter most people with bad intentions. Nothing will probably save you from those with the skills to get past this anyways. So, it does it's job and I'm happy with it. Just wish I didn't have to modify it to work.

Inconspicuous and it works fantastic

Using this on a 2015 Triumph Street Triple.I could not use the entire rubber strip, as it was too crowded, but I was able to cut off a 3/4" piece for each half of the bracket. Also the adhesive is weak. After that mounting was pretty easy.I've only used it a few times, so no opinion about longevity, but the shackle snaps closed firmly and the key works smoothly to release it (I've read reviews where these things are problematic). I also like that it's totally inconspicuous, and the open shackle can't hit the tank.Obviously the shackle culd be easily cut with bolt cutters, so I wouldn't leave my $600 Shoei attached to it for a long period, but it's fine for trips to the store, the gym, even work (for me anyway, as I work in an office in an upscale business park).For me this is an item of convenience rather than security, and for ~$8 it's exactly what I expected. I accidentally purchased the one including the cable, which I'm not using, but it might come in handy at some point, though again, it too could easily be cut if one were so inclined.

Worked well on a Yamaha Vstar 1100. I am finally able to use my existing lock that’s been hidden under the saddle bags for all these years. The factory lock was a direct fit to this mount for those that want to use the factory key. There’s nothing more infuriating than someone walking off with your helmet. You can’t stop the determined. Hopefully, this will help deter the casual kid, homeless, or other drain on society just looking to ruin someone else’s day. For the price and all of 5 minutes to install, it worked great for my application. Reduced 1 star as I had to make my own insulation due to the included foam tape being too thick.

Cheap crap that broke apart as soon as I attempted to install. Made out of powered metal of poor quality. Not even worth returning.
