Visible signs in 4 weeks!
I’m pretty sure my results aren’t the norm, but I have many growing spots after only 4 weeks. Many spots! I added this bottle as soon as I was past the initial cycle of the tank. My diatom bloom isn’t even over and I noticed that some spots weren’t rubbing off the glass… As I gave the spots a closer look, there were a lot of them all over the glass. Sure enough, they’re the good stuff… and they’re growing. I’ll be breaking out the razor blade to remove them from the front glass very soon. I will note this: I have kept my parameters very constant and stable since day one, via water changes. Alk @ 8 dkh, Ca @ 350, Mag @ 1050, pH @ 8.2, salinity @ 1.024. I don’t keep my parameters on point for the coralline, but rather it’s just an easy and good practice. Super easy with just weekly 10% water changes for a new tank. But like the instructions say…. You gotta have stability for coralline to thrive, just like with corals. I’d almost be willing to bet that all of the negative reviews are due to the owner not keeping healthy and stable parameters. It’s not a miracle bottle after all, just the spores you need from multiple strains. Treat it right, it’ll grow. PS. No other form of coralline has been introduced to my tank. I used completely dry rock, all new equipment, and I haven’t even introduced a cleaning crew yet, so no snails or hermits bringing it in. I’m pretty sure it didn’t hitchhike in on the pair of clownfish! 😂 This is the whole reason I purchased it to start with… because it was going to be the only way to introduce it for a while, plus I wanted pink!

Don’t hesitate, this stuff is great!
This is the second bottle I have purchased, one through amazon and the other directly through the business. I’m new to saltwater tanks so my review is from the perspective of relatively little experience but I knew I wanted my rock to have some color! First, the order of purple came fast as I was worried about the product in the mail. It also came with easy to understand instructions so no issue there. A good shake and I put it in my tank and waited. For me, it took about 3 weeks before I first noticed some color appear. From there, it spread as good as I could have hoped. Several weeks later, it looks amazing so I figured I would try the pink next. I haven’t seen a lot of pink on rocks so I really wanted to give it a try. Overall, finding corralline was difficult for me since I’m so new to the hobby. This product is exactly what I was hoping for and the shipping was fast. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to add a little color and enhance your tank.

Disappointed in Algae Growth
I followed the directions carefully and had high hopes for this product. I did notice a little pink early on, which I thought was coralline algae starting to grow, but after six months, there’s been no real progress. Not sure what went wrong, but it just didn’t seem to take in my tank. The idea is great, and maybe it works better in different times of the year (I purchased in January).

Live coralline algae
I have purchased 3 bottles of this over the past 2 years both pink and purple. The first two I purchased i never saw any results. The third bottle I purchased I saw results within 6 weeks of adding to my tank. It started on the bottom of tank (bare bottom) and the plastic of a submersible pump. It literally grows like mushrooms, one day nothing, the next there’s 15 spots of it out of nowhere. I’d like to add I have never had luck growing coralline with led lights, specifically the AI prime HD. When I had t5s coralline was a literal nuisance but when I got a different tank and switched to the LEDs never had any. So of course when you don’t have something now you want it. I decided I was going to move my tank right in front of a floor to ceiling Southwest exposed window and downgrade to cheap led lights and let the sun do most of the work. Now this location is perfect because a tree outside in summer provides dappled shade so the tank won’t overheat put provides extremely bright light in winter when the sun is lower and weaker. This is a Euphyllia only tank (and a few zoas and green star polyps that I thought I removed but guess not good enough)🤣. Amazing growth and I finally have my coralline back although I may soon regret that when I’m scraping it off the glass every week. So I’m only giving it 4 stars because how do I really know the coralline came from this bottle? I really don’t. I have a snail that has it on it and he has been in the tank since set up in its new location 5 months ago. That being said I did add this 6 weeks ago and the coralline showed up within the time frame specified on the bottle. I personally do believe it was the bottle but have no way of proving it. I’d also like to add my tank was going for near 4 months before I added the bottle, my dry rock has been in constant use for over 3 years with corals already on it. Also had low nitrate levels (<5) and the proper Mg,alk, and calcium levels needed to grow coralline. I don’t think it’s wise to add the bottle to a newly set up tank where parameters are fluctuating and the tank hasn’t gone through all it’s ugly algae and cyanobacteria stages, probably just be wasting your money.

Doesn’t work as Stated!
Everything this product claims to do, I have yet to see. It has now been over 2.5-3months since dosing not one but both the purple and the pink bottles in my aquarium and have yet to see even the tiniest of colorations. My tank parameters are dialed in the the exact data that is recommended on the bottles. I’m going to give it another month and use my other review for the 2nd bottle to update my findings/progress. But so far there has been absolutely no visible proof this product works. This will be my 11th with an established saltwater system and have yet to find anything that claims to work as a coraline algae promoter.

The best way to add coraline to your tank.
I add I added the pink helix to my Tank 4 weeks ago. The instructions said to expect it to take 4 -8 weeks but I noticed within 2 weeks multi colored pink pockmarks on my rocks. 2 weeks later this pockmarks had tripled in size and I'm seeing variations of pink from dark pinks to almost whitish pink. I am very impressed with the quality of this product Arc Reef not only delivered with what they said, but I feel they went above and beyond. There were multiple large chunks of rock in the bottom of my bottle with multiple colors of coralline Algae. I followed their instructions and adjusted my lights to more of a blue spectrum. And now I have noticed even more coralline algae growing. I have even started seeing it growing on my snails and hermit crabs. I will from now on be using Arc Reef products whenever I need to seed a tank. I have a 30 gallon reef I added one bottle of pink helix and I think I'm gonna get a bottle of purple helix to go along with it. If you want to seed your tank and get fast results definitely uses this product. I've used others in the past with varying results But none have ever been as good as Ark Reefs. I'm a customer for life.

It worked well quick with good conditions provided
Added to my aquarium approx 14 days after receiving due to needing to lower nitrates. It is not even a month later (3weeks) and there is now good signs this worked well. I have noticed many pink dots and green hard algae on old brown rock as well of some of the whiter rubble rock work in the tank. Now seeing the green hard algae all over also, great sign that it will all be pink soon enough. Worth the wait for sure. I do have purple painted rocks in the pictures but the big holey brown one had no previous color after it being in tank for a year or more and same with the rubble on top of the encrusted rock. Also a spot growing on silicone/glass in corner. Hoping it will knock out the diatoms/brown algae if it takes hold well. I did have one rock over the past year with good corilline already but it never spread and was only a few speckles for the longest. For some reason adding this accelerated its growth as well in my opinion. That is the rock holding the rubble pile.
