Great kit. Started the process in late March and now have three strong seedlings!

From someone who has grown about a dozen bonsai from seeds, this seller seems to just be a gamble. An EXTREMELY important aspect of growing bonsai from seeds is how fresh the seeds are. An old seed that’s been sitting around for a while has a significantly lower chance of germinating. Based off these reviews and my purchase, it seems like this seller keeps a lot of low quality seeds in stock and doesn’t rotate them out and/or get rid of the old ones. So when you buy you’re just hoping you don’t get bad ones.Don’t bother - big waste of money.

I bought this and thought for sure it wouldn’t grow, tossed it under a grow light after following the fridge directions for 20 days and it’s surprisingly thriving. I love it.

The idea sounded nice, and the company markets itself seem thoughtful, but the seeds never sprouted. They were evasive about replacing them, and shocker, the replacements did not work either.

Did not grow in Georgia, followed all the directions.

Short version: you have to follow the directions very carefully and wait a long time, but success is possible.I was a little worried getting this kit, as a lot of people had posted that the seeds never sprouted. However, given the company's replacement guarantee, I thought I'd give it a try, and so far, I'm pleased. I followed the directions to the letter, and I was just about to give up and ask for a replacement, when lo and behold! The seeds sprouted. It took much longer than I anticipated, longer than the packaging said (about a month after the artificial winter part of the directions), but there are two sprouts that I can see now. The only remaining question is how they'll do in another few months when I transplant them to real pots instead of the plastic "greenhouse" of the kit.I can't guarantee the same results for everyone; Japanese maple seeds are notoriously difficult to grow. But especially given the company's guarantee, I'd say it's worth the experiment.

Super easy to grow just leave it alone essentially. Since it came out of the fridge I've watered it twice I believe. Only one out of the pack grew.

Packaging and theory was great. However, I followed the instructions correctly. Placed in refridgerator as suggested. Placed in sunny window and watered as instructed but had no sprouts at all. Very disappointed. Wasted time and money when I was looking forward to learning the art of bonsai.
