This is not appropriate for most modern Australian drains, as we have a grate that prevents this from being used - the plug is very deep and a grate stops it from being inserted.

We just received the bathtub drain stopper and have only used it once, but am very happy about it. It was easy to use and it plugged the drain well. There was no loss of water. So I would say it is the perfect size for the tub. Would definitely recommend. It only took 2 days to get here. Please know that we don’t get next day delivery because of our location so it was delivered immediately for us.
