Does marine collagen have a fishy taste or smell?

Our Amandean marine collagen is processed to remove the fishy taste and smell older marine collagens were known for. It's largely flavorless and odorless — most buyers stir a stick into coffee, smoothies, or water with no noticeable fish flavor.

Does marine collagen have heavy metal contamination (arsenic, lead)?

Heavy-metal contamination is a known concern for marine-sourced supplements, which is why every batch goes through third-party purity verification — analyzed for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury.

How is this marine collagen verified for purity?

Every batch undergoes third-party purity testing — for heavy metals (mercury, arsenic, cadmium, lead), microbial contaminants, and potency. Sourcing smaller wild-caught species reduces upstream contamination risk vs farmed or larger fish.

Is marine collagen absorbed better than bovine collagen?

Marine peptides have smaller molecular weight than bovine, linked by some research to better absorption. The practical difference is modest — both support collagen synthesis. Marine suits skin-focused buyers; bovine suits skin+joint+gut.

Can this be mixed with hot drinks?

Yes — marine collagen peptides dissolve smoothly in hot and cold liquids without clumping. Most buyers stir a stick into coffee, tea, or smoothies. The processed format eliminates the fishy aftertaste so it disappears into whatever you're drinking.
