Zesty Paws Calming Treats for Dogs, Rich in Turkey, 60 Chews, Daily Use

I bought these as my dog was showing signs of dementia/anxiety. He has been having one every evening for about 2 weeks now and has shown an improvement. He seems to like the taste of them too.

So the whole calming aspect of these... I don't know, they definitely didn't seem to help calm them down before a walk, they didn't seem to do much in calming them if given before "Mum came home from work" and we've not noticed them settle any better of an evening either. But then again beagles are a fairly energetic breed and maybe "the nature of beagle is irrepressible". At the very least I can say these work no worse than other brands of similar "calming" treats we've tried, and we've definitely tried a few now, all with similar results.They do however definitely hover these up when offered, and there is nothing bad or concerning with these treats. They've been no messy, or smelly side effects either.We've higher hopes for these on their next long car journey, but we don't have one of those planned for while. However I will pop an update up if there are any significant results.

The dogs really like these, a yummy soft treat that had additional calming properties - a winner all round! They smell meaty, have nice natural ingredients and it's great to have the resealable pouch.We have workmen in, so I'm giving these to try and help settle them in the disruption. I think it's helping, but if not they're certainly enjoying them!

It’s safe to say that Finn loves these. Personally to me they smell like rabbit food. Unfortunately they haven’t made a noticeable difference. I also feel that these may be a bit expensive at about 40p each.

My dog really loves the taste of these! I feed these a good half hour or 45 minutes before I feel he needs them, and I can see that they take affect. My dog is a lot calmer when he has had these treats, and have helped him stay settled in environments where he would have struggled. I would say these are great value for money, and great that they have less plastic packaging coming as a refill bag.

Don't waste your money. Had absolutely no affect on my doggo.

These are a delicious treat for my dog. The calming effect is also good. Taken when a stressful situation is coming up they are much more relaxed with the situation. I would purchase more of these for any dog that is easily stressed or anxious, it also does no harm to a non stressed dog who just wants a delicious treat at the same time so they don't feel left out.

TL;DR - works really well for a giant breed dog with SEVERE fireworks anxiety, better than anything I've tried giving him.My dog is terrified of fireworks and unfortunately for him, my neighbors celebrate with them ALL year, at least once a week. By "terrified of fireworks" I mean that it's the worst care of firework anxiety any vet or person that sees his panic has ever seen. Any "boom" always sends my dog into panic attacks and hours of panting and trembling. He also won't go for walks after it's dark because he's afraid there will be a firework. As a dog mama, so hard to see him that afraid, and I worry about the effect it has on his health. I've tried everything, VERY strong cbd treats would work okay but the problem was that he wouldn't eat them if he was already panicked. Adaptil spray wouldn't do much for him at all. I've even given him Xanax because my vet recommended it after seeing just how terrified my dog was.On top of those, I play the loudest music I can and have to sit in the bathroom (it's the best sound insulated room in my apartment) with my doggo until the fireworks stop. So I bought these out of desperation and was pleasantly surprised.For reference I have a 100lb pit bull & Great Dane mix that's about 11 years old. I give him two larger pieces of these treats. He LOVES them, so much that he will eat them if he's already in a panic, which is HUGE. I mean, he'll even turn down peanut butter when he's in a firework-panic. So the fact that he eats these is amazing. They kick in pretty quickly, within 15 minutes. And although they don't take away his fear, they definitely subdue it A LOT. Because of his size, I think I could give him more treats but I want to just take the edge off and not overload his body since he's an older dog.After the treats kick in, he's much more calm and my efforts to comfort him actually help. If I play music and give him belly rubs, he doesn't pant or have wide panicked eyes. He's able to calm down in between the fireworks and although he jumps at the sound of one, he quickly settles down again. He also can fall asleep and stay asleep if they aren't too loud which means no more late nights sitting on the bathroom floor for me. These treats definitely work for my dog, and I'll be repurchasing!

I was really hopeful these would work, but my dog who is absolutely crazy about peanut butter wouldn't eat them 😞 Spent way too much on something that he doesn't like. He loves everything.Update: He is a 140lb dog and ended up eating 2 of the 3 I gave him, as per the directions, and they worked so fast!!

My dog loves the taste of these! I give him a couple around 8:30pm and it calms him down and helps him fall asleep!! They are quite effective for my little Shih Tzu!

My girl came from the shelter and these helped her relax a lot when getting used to a new environment. Helped settle her energy and anxiety down. They are super easy to chew and she has never rejected them!
