I really wanted to like this..
I had been waiting a while for this to come out here in the UK. To my amazement, I could finally order one on Amazon! but sadly, it was never to last and I had to return it. I did really want to like this tho, it's going to be difficult to find something good to replace it.The good- Amazing picture that was crystal clear and bright- Decent sound from built in speakers- Unique design- Cable stows away internally- Price was fairly competitiveThe bad- No smart OS and no magic remote, both of which are moot points if you have a Chromecast 4K or Fire TV- Loud grinding noise from fan or colour wheel when in horizontal position, went away when stood up vertically- Difficult to mount because of unique design- Very awkward throw distance, if you had this on the floor, it would be right in front of you because it were behind, you'd be blocking the image..unless you mounted it, but then why opt for something portable?- Mirror distorted the image and didn't quite work well with the auto-keystone.- USB power wasn't quite enough to power a Chromecast 4K

No Magic Remote or Smart WebOS with this projector (HU80-KG)
Please note this projector is not smart, you spend over 2K on a projector and LG give you the basic remote in the box and Non Smart WebOS3.5, Iv'e confirmed this with LG support. It seems they prefer selling the bangs and whistles to the Americian and German markets... we have no other UK variant to purchase to date, so no option but to return item or buy a Google 4K Chromecast with this model. - be advised before buying...!

Great as a projector, poor software compared with international version
Marry this up with a white wall and you've got a superb home cinema system. I've heard that this version has inferior software to those from abroad, but it worked fine for me. Once I got my head around it, streaming Amazon movies has become a doddle making movie night a staple for the family.Easy to set up, the projector can be set on its base or on its side (for example on a table) and the image size adjusted. Picture quality is superb - akin to a decent TV but, of course, with the eye-friendly nature of projection.Perhaps more surprising is the sound quality. Absolutely outstanding with no need for outputting to a hifi (at least, not for our purposes).Pretty portable, this is put away between uses and takes only a few minutes to get up and running. All in all, a superb home cinema system.

A superb projector, images as crystal as I’ve seen, sound that will blow your socks off.
Setting up the projector is very easy, probably one of the most straight forward set ups I’ve had to do.You position the projector, then power the projector, there are a couple on screen menu things to do, country etc, that’s it.You have two HDMI inputs, USB inputs, plus Audio output, optical audio output.I have connected an Amazon Fire Stick, which works a treatUsing the projectorFirst impression were a little underwhelming, its an odd shape, the cover that hides the cable and a set of inputs I thought very flimsy. However, when I got the Firs Stick on and working, WOW!!!, the quality is simply superb, images are sharp, colours are brilliant. You have a couple of small wheels one side of the projector, these are for size and focus, adjust them and the image was even sharper. The mirror part you lift has movement, you move it slightly to straighten the screen image.Audio quality is superb, Dolby Surround Audio with DTS-HD support, I was surprised it didn’t mention some of the other sound formats that you see on AV receivers, I’ve always thought a lot of them are pointless, I’ve connected the LG to my Onkyo 7.1 Digital surround system, and WOW again, watching the Avengers was like being at the cinema, best I’ve ever heard in a home environment. The LG projector can be used upright, flat and I’m assuming its fairly easy to ceiling mount. How this has received poor reviews is beyond me, I don’t know what a smart projector is, and don’t care, this is everything I have ever dreamed about having as a AV cinema at home.A superb project, an image as crystal as I’ve seen, sound that will blow your socks off.

Pricey, but great
This is the first projector I've owned, beyond small handheld ones and I'm blown away by it.It's very pricey, but if you're willing to part with the cash, it's definitely worth it.It's pretty easy to set up. Plug in, connect to the internet to update the agreements, then you're ready to go. My only small gripe is that, maybe, at the price, given it is internet ready, it might offer a bit more in the way of smart functions, but it's easy enough to play movies off a blu-ray or mobile/tablet, using HDMI.The most important thing, though, is the quality of picture. Now, it promises a 150 inch screen and, to be honest, I've not been able to try out projecting into something that big. But on a screen or wall, it looks absolutely amazing.Contrast is great, the blacks deep and, well, black. It's so good, we took it on holiday with us to our holiday home and have watched films outside, which was pretty successful. It has audio out sockets, which it's worth using, but it also has a decent internal speaker.Pricey, but worth it.
