HP ENVY 23-Inch All-in-One Touchscreen Desktop with Beats Audio (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I had been researching products for a computer in my daughter's room. I was struggling to find an all in one (due to space concerns on her desk) with all of my requirements: wireless mouse and keyboard, core I5 quad core, gigabit Ethernet, high speed hard drive, etc.. A lot of the other all-in-ones make compromises on these features which ultimately affects performance. I find these base requirements mean that you have a machine that is not sluggish and minimizes the hourglass or the new circle "please wait" pauses. We also had purchased a pair of beats head phones for her last Christmas and I saw this product come up with all of the back to school sales this summer. Her birthday was coming up so we decided to get this product (it helped that it was on sale for less than a grand and my daughter put some of her b-day money towards the deal). It has all of the basics for a great machine in a well polished presentation. I hard wired it to my network and the connection speed is outstanding. The unit itself operates wonderfully, no issues with sluggishness when running programs. My daughter uses it much like a TV when she's finished with homework through our Netflix account. I am stunned with the quality of the picture and the sound is pretty awesome from the built in soundbar. It has a nifty hook on the side for her beat's headphones. The only rub is that it comes in 1 color and that's red, to bad it didn't come in baby blue to match her headphones (Daddy's little girl.....). Overall very pleased and impressed with this product!

I love the lack of wires and plugs for speakers, mouse, and keyboards however this computer started having long periods of downloads and reboot times with automatic updates. I tolerated the slow start up and sluggish preformance but about 15 months into owning the machine the mouse pointer began irratic flickering and jumping on the screen making the computer unusable in Microsoft word/excel ECT. I looked for problems on line that were similiar and took all the solutions offered. After none of these corrected the problem I called HP Smart Friends and signed up for their paid services and they tried everything they could including returning the computer to day one out of the box and reinstalling windows 10. After having spent many hours and days having them work on this issue plus replacing the mouse and keyboard with both wireless and wired versions the problem still remains and they then suggested it was a hardware problem. The computer has more cons then pros and currently I have wasted more time trying to correct problems then I do actually getting to use it.

Not as loud as I had hoped. It was super easy to set-up. I love that I have the power cord attached and that's it. I don't use the touch screen as much as I thought I would. If you are looking to save some money, you might want to rethink that option. The display is gorgeous and the computer is very fast. I recently moved and have not been able to play around with it very much yet. It's very intuitive. Still miss my old Windows version, but I am adjusting.

I received my computer yesterday. It's gorgeous and the picture of the red doesn't do it justice. It's huge, it was super easy to set up, and I was up and running in less than a half an hour with all the programs I wanted to install. I really couldn't believe how fast it installs programs. The touchscreen is so nice! Just tap and you go where you want really fast. The screen is crystal clear and has beautiful colors.The mouse is very nice and it doesn't have that big camel hump and it doesn't hurt my hand or wrist to use it. The keyboard, on the other hand, is nice, but the buttons are too hard to push. I have to push the keys way harder than on my other wireless desktop keyboard. I was wondering if you can use a different keyboard with this. Would appreciate if someone would let me know.The beats audio and the sound is amazing! I have played my Cher CD's over and over, amazed that they sound so much better on this computer. Love that!Overall, this is the best desktop I've ever had and I'm in love with it.Overall, this is a fabulous desktop.

Its a nice computer and all also pretty fast but not worth the money. Speakers are not loud at all. paying for the name that's all. I expected to amazed by the audio but instead a BIG disappointment

I would highly advise that you consider a regular desktop instead of purchasing this slow machine. I was just closed down by the hated blue screen; it took 5 minutes for the unit to reboot. I timed it. It was a full 4 minutes before the background showed up. Once booted, I clicked on Internet explorer; it took 30 seconds to load. I'm sure that was because the booting process was still going on. I can cope with a slow startup, as I leave the computer on most of the time; however, I cannot handle the poor quality of text in the various websites I visit. If I enlarge the text to make it more legible, the text quality is even poorer. It is akin to reading text on an inexpensive notebook. I am most disappointed with the low volume of the beats sound system. On some sites the sound is impressive, on others, it is barely audible. Unfortunately, the system does not have sufficient power to boost a weak playback. I will have to forgo the beats and attach a standard sound system. I am very disappointed with the HP and would advise potential buyers to steer clear of it.
