Handles My i9-12900KS + RTX 3090 Rig Without Breaking a Sweat
I’ve been building PCs for over a decade, and this is easily one of the most impressive power supplies I’ve used to date. I picked up the CORSAIR RM850e (2025 revision) as part of a rebuild centered around an Intel i9-12900KS and RTX 3090, and I’ve been nothing but impressed so far.Build Quality & Design:The unit itself is solid — heavy in a reassuring way, with a clean black finish and no unnecessary branding or flashy extras. The fully modular design is a huge plus, especially for managing cables in a tight mid-tower. I appreciated that the included cables were all black and flat — easy to route behind the motherboard tray, and they look clean without custom sleeving.Installation & Cabling:Installation was simple, and everything fit snugly. I’m using the standard 3x 8-pin for the 3090, but it’s nice knowing the 12V-2x6 cable is included in case I upgrade to a future PCIe 5.1 card later on. No loose connectors, no weird bends required — and unlike some modular PSUs I’ve dealt with, the ports on the unit are clearly labeled and firmly seated.Performance & Stability:Despite powering a very power-hungry setup, this PSU hasn’t flinched once. The 12900KS, even under boost/load, can be a voltage-hungry CPU, especially paired with the 3090 — but even during max load stress testing (Cinebench + Heaven benchmark running together), rails stayed completely stable, no crashes or brownouts, and no sign of power-related instability.Noise & Efficiency:Corsair nailed the noise levels. During idle and light gaming, the fan doesn't even spin up. Even when it does under load, it’s so quiet it fades into the background of my other case fans. My case has good airflow, but the fan curve on this PSU is genuinely impressive. It’s also Cybenetics Gold rated, and the system draws power very efficiently — I've been monitoring wattage via a smart plug, and it lines up well with published benchmarks for power efficiency.Extras & Future-Proofing:ATX 3.1 & PCIe 5.1 ready105°C-rated Japanese capacitors (a must for long-term reliability)Modern Standby support works perfectly — fast wake times, zero sleep issues in Windows 11Final Thoughts:For anyone running a high-end system like mine — especially with power-hungry components like the i9-12900KS and RTX 3090 — this PSU offers peace of mind. No coil whine, no overheating, no second-guessing whether it’s enough. It’s quiet, efficient, and built with headroom for future GPUs thanks to the included 12V-2x6 cable and compliance with the latest standards.Highly recommend if you’re building or upgrading a performance-focused rig and want something that’ll last.

Use the cables that came in the box!
This has been great so far, practically silent, and more power than I need. I haven’t had any of the issues with whine, excess noise, or excess fan speeds that some have talked about. It’s great.Learn from my mistakes. The instructions clearly say to use the cables that came with it, but I really wanted to just swap it out without redoing the cable routing in my case. That was a mistake. I tore my hair out trying to figure out why this wouldn’t run, even ordered a replacement. I had given up and swapped out all cables except the MB cable, and still no luck. I finally gave up, and as a last resort pulled my MB cable and replaced it with the one that came with this PSU. It started right up.

Works Perfectly, Cables Backwards-Compatible
Oddly powerful enough to run an RTX 3090 and RTX 3070 together with a Ryzen 7 9700X CPU and ~12 other parts. I probably should have gotten the 1000W model instead, but I'm dumb and didn't plan ahead. Included all mentioned cables and a few other things. There are not enough included cables for both my GPUs, so I had to borrow a dual 6+2 cable from an RM750e 2019 model. Thankfully, all RMe series PSUs back to at least 2019 have full cable compatibility. Corsair has a helpful table on their website for which PSUs have compatible cables.

Rock-Solid, Future-Ready PSU with Quiet Operation
This PSU is exactly what I was looking for. The CORSAIR RM850e is super quiet, runs cool, and has all the modern connections I need — including the new 12V-2x6 cable for next-gen GPUs. It’s fully modular, which made my build way cleaner and easier to manage.I love that it’s ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 ready, so I don’t have to worry about upgrading anytime soon. It just feels like a really solid, well-built unit. If you're doing a new build or upgrading, this power supply is a no-brainer.

when all else fails corsair doesnt
i ended up buying this to replace a power supply that blew on me corsair has never really let me down with power supplies the one time i didnt buy corsair the power supply blew up on me so i can say formyself atleast i will most likely only use corsair power supplies from now on as they are the only brand ive never had issues with modular is really nice because you can just use the cables you need making cable management way easier and effortless pretty much i like that alot the packaging the psu comes in is really nice and it has supported for the 12 volt high power connector which is nice so no need to use those adapters for your 40 to 50 series gpus

It helps to read the instructions and/or watch a "how to install" video.
When I first got the power supply it didn't work. I couldn't get it to work with my motherboard. I even asked Amazon for a replacement, which they sent to me overnight. As it turned out, there was NOTHING wrong with the power supply..!I had it hooked up wrong. Once I figured out what I was doing, the power supply works great with my Ryzen 7 58003DX CPU and my new MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4080 GPU.My sincere apologies to Corsair and Amazon.

Good quality PSU, Easy to use and simple.
It's a really good quality PSU, modular, easy to install in case. However some pins ij the cpu eps cable appeared to be bent, I didn't used it as there are two of them. Another thing about the EPS cable is that, in my case the cable pin didnt match the atx 12v on my motherboard (B650 Eagle Ax), as the the D shape had to go into the Square shape, it was really scary and had to Google it and to find that it's fine to connect. If you see that, just plug it in.

Works great
So far its great. I run a i7 14700kf and a 7900 xtx. Was told the E was on the lower end of there products. Either way E or X I will buy again. Price was great for budget also. I bought a 1000w one so I can upgrade a little more without buying a new psu later.
