works great, plenty of torque, and the flat top feature with clamps so it doubles as a bench sander is terrific, a real bargain

This is a well built, heavy duty sander. I bought it to replace my 20 year old 3" X 21" belt sander that was getting a bit tired and was going to purchase a different model at a higher price, but "Amazon's Choice" suggested this model instead. I decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. It's a bit heavier than my older sander, but not by much, and it is a larger sander; the weight difference is hardly noticeable when using. I especially like the longer power cord. The clamps to hold it in an inverted position on a bench are good, although I don't know if I'll ever use them. Ease of use, ease of belt changing, and stock removal are very good, with stock removal more dependent on choice of belts used than on the sander. Time will tell how well it will hold up, but it does have a three year warranty, as opposed to only one year for most others. A case to hold the sander, spare belts, and the inversion clamps would be a definite improvement; I prefer the hard plastic cases as opposed to the soft cases now provided with many tools. Dust collection with the included dust bag is poor but no worse than my old sander - there was at least 10 times as much dust left on the work surface as collected in the bag. I didn't have the necessary adapter to connect my shop vac when first using the sander, but I'm sure it will be better with the shop vac connected. With better dust collection and a hard case to hold the sander and accessories, it would definitely be a five star rating.

It's almost impossible to keep the belt adjusted properly on this I've used it three times two of which shredded the belt and the other constantly playing with the adjustment as the belt kept going side to side!! Now I know some people are reading this thinking this guy just doesn't know what he is doing, well that may be true with a few things just a few but I've owned a few belt sanders over the years and never dealt with the inconsistent setting on this sander I figured i would give it a fair shot but after the third belt 👎 I wish I could return it but I think it might be to late!! Very disappointed!!!!!

Great sander. A little too expensive.

I chose the Triton T41200BS over the Makita 9403 and 9404 because of the price and 3 year warranty. Shipping was fast with Amazon Prime. Box arrived without damage. I need a GOOD belt sander to smooth out a dozen Black Walnut table slabs and 10 32 inch Black Walnut cookies. From the start I found the belt would stay on track, it wandered to the left towards the body of the sander and frayed the side of the belt, it doesn't take long to do. Centering the belt and did a few more passes and then looked at the belt, it had worked its way to the left again. At this point I reread the manual for the trouble shooting the tracking problem and found nothing. Looked at Tritons web site and the FAQ section and also found no help. At this point I sent them and email asking for assistance in addressing the problem. After thinking that maybe it was operator error, I put on a new belt and centering it I made two passes and turned it over to look at the belt and found it had shifted to the left, I re-centered the belt and made two more passes only to find the belt was again off center. A week had passed since I had sent my email to Triton with no response from them it was time to return the sander and order the Makita 9403 like I should have in the first place.

This is a powerful product that does the job well. However, I cant figure out why the belts keep coming off. I have Looked for the adjustments but still can’t locate it. I’ll try more but it’s a shame as this is really a great belt sander that apparently has an issue with the belt adjustments!

Not only a good tool, but also a good company. Here is my story...After receiving my new sander, I noticed the adjustment knob to be broken. I sent an email to the distributor, Toolstream, requesting a replacement part. After less then 8 hours, my new adjustment knob was shipped without any trouble. Thank you Toolstream for supporting your customer.Also, have been using the tool and it is working great for my DYI projects.

This sander is a big, heavy beast...it does what it is designed todo....

J'ai sablé sans difficulté un plancher de bois franc. Elle est puissante et maniable à la fois. Très satisfait.
