I have had some lower to middle back pain for a few weeks now that is finally starting to subside. These patches were recommended to me from my daughter and they work very well to alleviate the pain I’m having. It’s painful when I twist a certain way but no pain if i stay still.

They’re a lifesaver and a nice addition to anyone’s first aid. Be mindful of Lidocaine patches, while they are effective, they can cause further skin irritation with uneven use. You’ll need to read the directions for these as they are but a percentage point lower than prescription lidocaine patches, and depending on the individual, your symptoms may be less than worthy of using these for long term use. But for me, I had upper back pain in a particular area and they work well for about 3 hours of use, then kinda fade out over the day. You’re not supposed to use more than 3-4 a day, so i’d go along with that. If after a few hours pain is returning, or it’s in a different area, it’s fine to take the one you have off and cover the prior area and new area, it’s all dependent on how painful it is, for me I was experiencing a numbness and itchiness in that part of my back. The icyhot formula has always worked, but lidocaine is a perfect addition to their standard formula. I’m satisfied to say the least, and a little peeling doesn’t bother me I assure you when the pain is relieved. But with that said, the adhesive is abysmally bad. They really need to work on that. I advise that you take as many fabrics as you can off that may collide with the product. You can also use a little surgical tape to help keep it on if you have some handy. Otherwise, keep pressing.

I have used these patches for over 3 weeks. I have severe arthritis in my entire body with all of the soft tissues in my body slowly being destroyed. The worst spots of pain are my lower back at my hips, between my shoulder blades and my neck. As the pain increases my muscles spasm and my back is starting to curve into an “S”. With today’s doctors not willing to prescribe pain medicines, I like many others are left suffering daily. My pain is 24 hours a day and I can rarely sleep an entire night. These lidocaine pads with menthol have been a miracle for me. When you put them on they begin heating up within minutes and for me the heating sensation in strong for 3 or more hours. It relaxes my muscles and allows me to fall asleep. The lidocaine numbs the pain nerves enough that is allows me to sleep and get some rest. The pads last 12 hours. I generally put one on at 6 PM and remove it when I wake up. On bad days I put one on in the day time also. The pads are thin but for me they work very well. I am not a squirmer and I rarely have a pad roll up or come off of my body. I generally put one on my lower back where my spine has slipped and is pinching my spinal cord, or I put one between my shoulder blades. Are these pads perfect, no. They do and can move or roll up. Just because I don’t have a major issue with them doesn’t mean that you will not. Because of that issue I rate them at 4 stars. For pain relief an lasting 12 hours I rate them 5 stars. They are wonderful. They are expensive and I do not understand why only 5 pads per box. My biggest complaint is the price.

Got these for recurring, lower back spasms. In combination with laying on a heating pad, these were great. However, they do peel easily if you aren’t careful. I was also hoping that the cooling agent was a little bit stronger. But they definitely did help a bit.

I keep these in stock! These actually make a difference in my lower back pain right before I start my period. These stick and stay & I forget it's even there. ALSO, I had some shoulder and elbow pain from the row machine and slapped these on before bed & it actually helped alleviate some of the pain. Less than $10 for a pack of 5 is fine because they DO work and I don't use them all the time.

I’ve tried a lot of patches for back and shoulder pain, and these are one of the stronger ones I’ve used. The lidocaine helps numb the area and takes the edge off the pain within about 20–30 minutes. The patch itself is large enough to cover most of my lower back, and it sticks well without peeling up, even if you’re moving around. The scent is noticeable when you first put it on but not overwhelming, and it fades after a while. The material is flexible and feels comfortable under clothes, though I wouldn’t recommend wearing it with tight fabrics since the edges can show. Pros: strong numbing effect, stays in place, large coverage area. Cons: a little pricey for how many you get, and the cooling sensation doesn’t last as long as I’d like. Overall, these are great if you need targeted relief for back, shoulder, or joint pain, especially when you don’t want to take more medication.
