Dark Iron Fitness Knee Brace for Weightlifting – Extra Large, Padded, Stabilizing Compression Sleeves for Powerlifting and Weight Training – Black

I have bought a pair of gloves for working out and a belt from Dark Iron. Both products are of excellent quality. I needed a new pair of knee sleeves so I decided to buy the ones by Dark Iron. Again, the quality did not disappoint. Nice design and excellent craftsmanship.The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the problem I found with the velcro used to hold the straps. The knee sleeve has two straps, one on top and one at the bottom. They are long as they have to go around your leg. In terms of design I think it is a really a good idea. The problem is that the velcro at the end of the straps loves the material the sleeve is made out of. It just sticks to it real hard and when you try to detach it, the velcro "chews" the material. So you might envision what the sleeve will look like if this happens repeatedly over time.My strategy now is to roll the end of the straps where the velcro is onto itself. The velcro attaches to the strap and in this way there is less of chance for the velcro to attach itself to the rest of the material. You just have to be careful when you do it because any miscalculation will end up with the velcro sticking to the sleeve again.The problem I described is a minor one since the knee sleeves work really well providing that extra protection when you lift heavy. I highly recommend this product

The support structure is great, but the material started fraying immediately. Like the knit material doesn’t do well with the Velcro. I expect I’ll have to take a sweater shaver to these just to keep them from looking like pure trash.

I took a gun training course that was 7 hours of standing, walking, and kneeling on rocky dirt. My knees took a beating and I could not participate in all the exercises due to an old injury to my right knee. I enrolled into the same class a few weeks later and I knew I needed something to help me get through it. I found these Dark Iron knee pads/brace. They held up great to all the kneeling, and bending that I had to do. I was even able to get through the exercises that I could not do the first time around. When I got home, I also realized that my legs and knees where not as tired and sore as they had been before I used these braces. I can’t say how well these braces will work in six months or a year of constant use but after having worn them once for approximately 9 hours straight I can say that I am extremely happy.

I sometimes have knee issues when doing deadlifts and squats as well as when running.Not too bad, but as I don’t want it to get worse I’ve tried a few various knee braces. The best so far has been the Ace brand but after a little while the Velcro really stops sticking well and causing the brace to be too loose.I have been impressed with Dark Iron Fitness products in the past and decided to try theirs.So far I’ve used these for my last 3 deadlift workouts as well as using it during my treadmill sprints.I can’t say if performed better than the Ace brand. It was about the same and did it’s job well. I had no pain in my knees after my workouts.Where I liked this better than the Other though was the Velcro strap seems much better designed. It stayed on snugly without me having to readjust the brace.I will continue using this brace. With the lifetime warranty I’m more confident that this will be made to last. I haven’t been disappointed by a Dark Iron product yet.

This Hass to be the most comfortable knee braces that I have purchased. They allow me to squat with support and prevent pressure on my knees. I do a lot of high intensity Work out, where a lot of squatting in a lot of work on the floor is done, so these knee braces Work great for this style of work out, however; I wish the quality of a brace could be much better as they tend to lose quality due to the work on the floor and the Velcro Used to tighten the brace. You do get the life warranty with it Which is great, but I feel that I’m going to be reporting my braces very soon. Please consider making the same type of knee brace but perhaps with a different material that does not get damage when your workouts are on the floor as tend to be most of my high intensity workouts.

I've been setting on this review for a while, but these sleeves are the real deal. After wearing out a simple pair of Shock Doctor knee sleeves I decided to get a more serious pair of sleeves for my heavy squats. The difference was night and day, and even when i would push lower and heavier my knees don't suffer afterward.The sleeves are well made with a comfortable and breathable material that manages not to get in the way of those fine movements in spite of their larger profile for knee sleeves. With straps that can dictate the level of tightness/security you're looking for these really manage to do anything you throw at them. Only down side I can point to is that sizing for this item is really important. I went a size higher than necessary and while it's not too much of an issue I feel the proper size would be more comfortable.In short I would have a hard time recommending any other knee sleeves. The products by Dark Iron have been fantastic and have a level of quality matched by reasonable prices that make going with these guys a no-brainer. So yourself a favor if you're looking to either save your knees or just give them some extra support these will do the job.
