I absolutely love this product, this is my second time buying it. Yes it has an odor like passing gas but other than that I will literally swear by it as it does exactly what it says. Overall it helps to maintain your tank offering your fish a balanced and more healthier living space. It’s great value for your money and for the future I think I’ll get the larger one for $68 because I’ve bought it twice for $16 so you’ll be before off with value buying the bigger one but again it’s highly recommended and the effectiveness of what it offers is great and it’s very easy to use just follow the very simple instructions

Hello all. I have a planted 55 gallon aquarium with 9 neon tetras, 7 red common tetra,4 pigmy gouramis,6 zebra danios,1 bristle nose pleco,2 nerite snails, and 5 amano shrimp. This tank was set up 2 years ago and established. I decided to use microbe lift as a maintenance when i top off any evaporated water. If you are using uv lights, please turn it off for 12 to 24 hours before first application. I observed visually what was happening about 4 hours later and i noticed very small debris floating in the water column. This product starts working right away. 12 hours later and everything looks good. Clear water, fish are active and all is well. I am planning to attempt to set up a 10 gallon aquarium using the walstad method. I will use microbe lift on this next project. Will update with results when i can. P.s. microbe lift smells like rotten sewage. I suggest to get your dose set up outside, cover cap , go inside quickly amd dump it in aquarium. The smell dissipates quickly. Once in water no more smell. Please try not to spill any indoors. Update 9/25/24. This liquid is great. Water is crystal clear. It even got rid of black hair algae. I add 30 ml once a month. No water changes at all since I started using this product, just a top off due to evaporation. I rn a fluval 407 canister filter, I serviced it 2 weeks ago, and I was surprised at how clean the foam pads were, no build up whatsoever.

Love this stuff! We have a little turtle pond that started from a leaky septic tank, and this stuff works great at clearing it up! Plus, my Uncle Frank is always eating weird food and stinkin up our trailers tiny "bathroom" when he wanders over here all liquered up. I just pour a little bit of this in the toilet, and POW!. No more odors! Heck, now it smells even better then the rest of our trailer!! ... We just might eat supper in there tonight!!

(This is the same review for the Special Blend since I am doing as recommended and using both together) Alright so this just came today. Will update as my cycle goes on after adding it (today). (Special Blend) The smell. Oh my god the smell. I read the reviews opened outside and was confused why I didn’t smell anything. So I took a whiff. Then I fetched for awhile. It smells what I imagine rotting corpses on a high way smell like. The smell is legit. Why I gave it 4 stars. I’ll be using this with Nite Out II also since everything I read says they go hand in hand. It says that if you put in with live animals make sure you have a TON of oxygen going in the tank. So definitely make sure you use a few air stones in your tank as I assume this sort of lowers the oxygen levels. Thus why people have killed their stock using it. I’ll report back in a few days what my tests read. I’m in the middle of cycling now (low ammonia high nitrites and nitrates) fishless cycling. I have 4 tanks going atm. However one has my axoltol so I didn’t use it in that tank. (Nite Out II) Doesnt smell, does much like what all the others are supposedly doing. Im gonna try and follow every day and read the tanks reading. RIght now I am only testing for Ammonia and nitrItes instead of nitrates, as because im cycling, it doesnt matter how high they get - yet. (Pictures added of three tanks from yesterday before adding anything) Day 1: (next day after putting Special Blend and Nite Out II in) Tank 1 (20gallon tall): BEFORE adding I had 0ppm Ammonia, and 1.0 of nitrites. AFTER: No change Tank 2 (5 gallon): BEFORE: .50ppm Ammonia and 1.0 NitrItes. AFTER: No Change Tank 3 (10 gallon): BEFORE: 0 Ammonia ppm and 2.0 nitrites AFTER: No change Tank 4 (20 gallon long with an axolotl in): BEFORE: 1.0ppm Ammonia 2.0 nitrites AFTER: .50ppm Ammonia 2.0 nitrites So, for day 1: Not much has changed. Remember, I was in the middle of cycling previously of adding too and were about around 0 ammonia for almost everything but the one tank that had a living creature in it.

I will always swear by this product for my fish tanks. I extend the cleaning period of my tanks and helps my live plants and the fish. Water is always way clearer with constant use, quality of life is better for the fish and for the most part, pretty easy to use unless you have tank sizes not mentioned and then you have to do some math on it. Great product and I will never stop using this for my fish tanks.

I am never buying from this brand again going forward. I decided to detour from the typical Seachem and API brands I have always used without issue and I severely regret it. The bottle arrived with a heavy caking inside the entire bottle that seems like it fused with the plastic and a lot of it flaked off when poured. The intense smell didn't bother me, as I was expecting it from the reviews. However, just 2 months after first using the brand new product, I noticed that almost all of the pungent smell was now gone when opened, even with proper storage and temperature control. I thought that maybe a lot of the bacteria had died, but I naively chose to use it anyway. I wrongly thought that worst case scenario it just wouldn't just be as effective as before, I didn't think that this would mean that it was now super toxic, being that it was so new still. I wrote an email to this company through their website to ask if this was normal, the smell going away so quickly, and they make you fill out a huge questionnaire with all of your water parameters just to be able to ask them a basic question. In the meantime, my fish started dying left and right, and I have a few barely hanging on for their lives right now and in obvious distress, even after water changes. It's easy to just think as a human 'oh the fish died', but no, they are family, and I really hate being the cause of pain and misery for the things I am responsible for and in my care. These were little precious living souls lost, suffering so much in the process. This was unnecessary and avoidable. And this company never responded to me. I didn't tell them that my fish died, I only asked them about the smell of the product and if this was normal for the smell to dissipate in such a short period of time. That's how much they care about their product, and about us!

My son tries everything on the market in his aquarium and recommends to me what works. Microbe-Lift Special Blend is the best I've ever used in my fresh water aquarium. It keeps my water clear, controls nitrate and nitrite levels and breaks down the organic matter in the gravel. I started using this January 2023 and when I suction my gravel for a water change (about every 2 months), it's cleaner than it's ever been. I started with the initial recommendationed dosage on the bottle, then I add 10 ml a week. Whoever wrote that they went through 2 bottles in couple of months overdosed their tank. No wonder their fish died! A 16 oz bottle should last at least a year if used correctly. I have a planted 38 gallon aquarium and diffuse C02 into the water. I have noticed that Microbe-Lift also gives my plants boost. Good stuff!! I highly recommend it, and encourage users to follow the directions on the bottle. I also add a bag of Pruigen to my canister filter every time I clean it. Another good product to control the organic pollution and keep your tank clean and clear.

No completely satified

5 stars! Dosed this morning in my reef tank and my tank is half as cloudy as it was yesterday due to an incidental bacteria bloom. Will keep up with the maintenance dose every 2 weeks and provide an updated review. However, it literally smells like a dog pooped on the floor, right beside your tank lol. The smell seems to travel through the house too. Recommended to use an air purifier and open a window lol. Edit 2025.11.1 From morning until night, this stuff cleared my tank of an bacteria bloom. For two weeks, my tank has been cloudy. This stuff cleared my tank to crystal clear water. Not sure of the long term effect, but I'm satisfied so far Edit 2026.03.14 This stuff works really well. Using it along with a UV sweeper to rid myself of LCA dinos. Does an awesome job at maintaining clear water.

Stinkt wie die größte Jauche Grube überhaupt aber hat mir wirklich beim Einlaufen meines Meerwasserbeckens geholfen, sehr bald nach der ersten Impfung haben sie die Wasserwerte stabilisiert und der Algenwachstum ist zurückgegangen, den Rest haben meine fleißigen Krebse und manuelles ernten mit dem Kescher aus dem Bodengrund erledigt. Benutze es aktuell noch immer einmal die Woche !!!
