In April, we moved to another house. This house had a very neglected pond in the back yard with 5 goldfish in it. It was cooler, so the pond water was clear, but was obviously in need of some attention as the bottom was covered with muck. A few weeks after we moved, the weather got warmer and the pond water started to turn green. The existing filter equipment was not in working condition, so I decided to buy this filter while I try to get the external filter equipment working. By the time the filter arrived, the water was completely green and I couldn't even see the fish anymore. I put this filter together, added the little fountain and plunked it into the water. At first, I was cleaning the filter out 2x per day. It was working! I started to be able to see the fish once again, instead of orange blurs. Two weeks of 24 hour filtering resulted in much clearer water. Now we are at 1 month with daily cleaning and the water is completely clear and I can see that my 5 goldfish have turned into 6!! I definitely recommend this filter for your pond. It is easy to clean, easy to use and worked better than I had expected. I have zero experience with outdoor decorative ponds, but this little filter did its job and cleared the completely murky water within a few weeks.

We’ve been happy with our aquagarden pond filter over the last three years but the water became murky recently. We replaced the old pad filters with these new filters and they are working great. The pond is very clear and the fish are happy. I’m glad I bought new filter pads.

I have purchased items at least once a week for the past two years and this is the single best product that I've purchased. So works so well, that I wish I would have gotten it sooner. It sure would have made things alot easier for me. I have a 4 year old pond that is about 4x7x2. Not very big, roughly 143 gallons last time I measured it. It has 5 adult koi around 8 inches in length, and 30 or so babies. There are also 2 frogs and a turtle that live in it. This pump works like a boss. My previous pump got clogged every 5-10 days(3 upgraded pumps over 3 years), depending on the season and amount of algae. This pump hasn't been cleaned in the past 4 months because of the cold weather and it is still running like new. The UV light certainly works at reducing algae to a point that almost no algae exists during summer. The pump itself is powerful enough to keep the water crystal clear. The LED light is also an attractive feature, but I don't care about it that much. If your considering buying this pump, just go ahead a do it. It's worth it. Just make sure it can handle the about of gallons your pond is, if not, get the larger one. PHOTO EXPLANATION The pond was pea-soup green, with a visible depth of about 1 inch. I installed this pump without cleaning the pond to see how it would perform. The photo shows how clear the water got in less than 2 days. You can still see all the algae on the rocks below, but at the same time the water is crystal clear. Clear to drink, although I wouldn't. The pump with UV lamp works. Period.

I’m very happy with how easy this filter is to maintain and with how effective it is. The filter pads can be rinsed and re-used several times before they need to be replaced.
