I mainly have a strobist setup, so I got a hotshoe adapter and a speedlite on this stand.The stand feels very solid. I am impressed for the price. The weak link on this product is the clamp. The clamp has a tight grip. It's a hard plastic but it's small. I feel like I can snap it off.I also did run into a problem with expanding the base. Sliding it out was a bit rough and I have to spray some WD-40 to smooth it out. After the WD-40, it works but still a bit rough. However, it is not a big issue.Overall, I like the product and for the price I think it is a good value. I would recommend it.

Received the product within a couple days of purchase. Well packaged and protected. While opening and fiddeling with the product, it was incredibly hard to open the stand. Once I was able to pry open the bottom legs..it wasn't going anywhere. I attached a larger softbox to the stand and it held its own quite well.Pros: Stable, will not fall or come lose, Incredibly convenient/small, great for use as a small boom, low-level light during shoots[add a sandbag for heavier top attachments.]Cons: Very hard to open and close, have to losen all nuts on the legs then tighten to lock, no travel bag, surprisingly short.The price is worth it if you are on a budget[who isnt] and you are in need of a very short light/mic stand.

This is a great light stand. Works very well. It's a little tight to open and close, but I assume will loosen with more use. It's significantly smaller than my other light stands. The 3 legs are less than a foot long, and unopened, it's probably only 18 inches tall. It does telescope and get larger. I love it for shooting babies, because it is lower than my other stands!

Product arrived today, and I am pretty disappointed. It does not match the product pictures. There is no threaded post as shown in one of the pictures, which makes it incompatible with one of my light fixtures. Also, it is very rough when extending. Not smooth at all. The method for tightening the legs in place seems very unstable to me. Will probably end up working with some adjustment, but not what I was hoping for.

This stand is the perfect height for a background light but it is not sturdy. If you put weight on it the legs collapse. I wouldn't recommend this for a strobe light but it is ok for a smaller continuous light.

It's a cheap, short stand. It's not going to hold up to much abuse, but it works fine for what it is.

I would almost call these heavy duty. They are exceptionally sturdy for a light stand in this price range. Please note the size--these are SHORT light stands. I didn't notice this in advance, but was still able to put them to good use.
