I am EU 40 size 7 UK and I find medium a bit big so prefer the snug size small which is better for swimming

Can you walk on a pebbly beach in them to get to the water? Are they hardwearing enough for that?

The socks are a bit thicker at the sole part. They have some anti-slippery circles. I reckon it depends on how sharp are the stones you would be walking on. In my opinion (never tried it) they will be more than enough to walk on the beaches like Brighton or Eastbourne.
