Optrel Panoramaxx 2.5 Auto Darkening Welding Helmet Black #1010.000

The peripheral vision + crystal clear clarity this thing provides is unparalleled. Not as durable as other offerings out there, but for bench welding this thing is the best there is. I was still able to fit a 3m half mask respirator under this, despite how close the lens fits to your eyes. Really impressed with this thus far, very good sensitivity range. Big external button for grind mode, and a blinking blue light that you can see through the lense to let you know its on. Such impressive features. I could honestly not believe the level of clarity while welding, I feel like this alone has increased my tig welding skillset by allowing me to more clearly see the puddle. Do not drop or bang this thing up, it is somewhat fragile, other than that its incredible.

Not my first Optrel hood. Started using them 10 years ago and have yet to find another hood close to the clarity of Optrel. Absolutely love the warranty on them. I work mostly on heavy equipment, pile splices, and structural for major construction projects and still would not choose another.

Love the comfort fit, the light weight, the view is crystal clear! Only downside is they say 180° view and in reality is about 90° or an average welding helmet

Awesome hood! In the Boilermakers union and need a durable hood.. 1 year later it’s still holding up and I love the comfort and larger viewing area and especially like the outside grind mode button!

first of all would say i'm not a professional welder but extremely do care about my eye vision so by recommendation of one of my pro welder friend bought this so you don't need to be pro to realize what a big difference between this product Vs cheap one so happy about it highly recomended

I purchased this Optrel welding helmet for over $500 expecting top-tier quality and reliability from a premium Swiss brand. At first, the helmet felt great and performed well. Unfortunately, that didn’t last. After only a handful of charging cycles, the charging port failed. The port is poorly designed located in a hard-to-access spot and clearly made from inferior materials that don’t hold up to normal use. I filed a warranty claim expecting better, given the price point. Optrel acknowledged the issue but refused to cover it under warranty. Their only offer was a 40% discount on a replacement meaning I’d still have to pay hundreds more for a helmet that already failed prematurely. This isn’t normal “wear and tear.” This is a clear design/manufacturing flaw on a high-dollar product. For a helmet in this price range, the charging system should easily last years, not fail after minimal use. I will not be buying another Optrel product. There are much better options out there that offer superior durability and actual customer support without making you pay again when their product breaks early. Save your money look at other brands unless you’re okay risking $500+ on something with this kind of quality control and warranty experience.

This helmet is amazing for indoor based welding. The clarity is unreal, the actual viewing area is top notch and its so lightweight you forget you have it on. Best investment yet!

Absolutely one of the best hoods you can get!!! I was completely blown away by the clarity and field of view provided by this hood! I've tried others and this one is unrivaled. Been using it two months now and that automatic feature is a lifesaver! If you have the money definitely get this hood, you won't be disappointed!
