We’ve been using this automatic chicken coop door for over a year now and it has worked flawlessly. You can set the exact times you want it to open and close, and the chickens figured it out very quickly. Our Buff Orpingtons have no trouble fitting through it at all. We liked it so much that we ended up buying a second one to go from the run out to our free-range area. It’s been just as reliable as the first. Battery life has been excellent—we haven’t had to change them in over a year—and we’ve had zero issues so far. Super convenient and gives a lot of peace of mind knowing the coop is handled automatically. Our only con Is that the door does not stop when it hits something, but it is loud enough that the chickens won't be near it while closing.

Simple to install, program, and works a very long time on the battery.

Easy to install, use the template cut a hole in the wall and screw it on. timer actually stays pretty accurate, sturdy enough to keep skunks, opposums, and other smaller critters out. Door opens smoothly and if someone’s under the door it will go back up so a chicken dosent get injured. The size is good for standard hens, my heritage breed turkeys can squeeze in if they want but it’s a tight fit for them. So if you just wanna put it on a chicken coop, duck coop it’s fine. Over all functions well. I have no complaints

Edit: Reducing to 1 would do 0 if i could. The time keeps changing and its not even cold. The chickens were out at 4am, time was right, but the door decided to randomly open and close and they were shut out (i checked at 8pm and it was closed with all them in the coop). Basically this is a piece of garbage. Dont get this unless you still plan to remember to check everynight perfectly. Any temp below freezing seems to have a risk of resetting the time. I thought it was a fluke or my kid did it but i just went out and found it shut my chickens out for a 3 or 4th time, luckily i checked. maybe this is a summer door and you need to he perfectly disciplined over winter. Not impressed though.

Update: The first unit I received appeared to be defective—the door would stop shortly after starting, both when opening and closing. I had to press the buttons multiple times for it to function properly. I returned that unit, and the replacement has been working flawlessly for over a month now with no issues. The manufacturer actually reached out to me after seeing my review, expressing genuine concern. They informed me that their product carries a two-year warranty and emphasized their commitment to both product quality and customer service. Since I had already returned the defective unit, they even offered me a refund to make things right. Overall, I’m impressed not only with the replacement product but also with the company’s dedication to standing behind what they make and ensuring their customers are satisfied.

Our hens are living their best lives thanks to this automatic coop door. It opens at 6am, closes at 6pm, and doesn’t complain once—unlike my old setup (ahem, ME). The motor is quiet, the build is sturdy. Installation was a breeze—just a drill, a screwdriver, and a little chicken supervision. The safety stop means no feathered friends get caught mid-waddle. The timer was easy to set up and the 3 AA batteries (not included) but make it easy to change when the time comes to change them since the battery compartment is in the front of the unit. In the circle, just twist and pop them out and put new in easy. The timer set up was easy just set the current time, then set the time you want it to open, then set the time you want it to close. Note must set it up with 24 hour clock. The Size is Great and looks great on our coops, Even our rooster has no problem going in and out the door.

EDIT: after leaving my initial review below I was contacted by the seller and I have never experienced such EXCELLENT customer service. They refunded my money and are offering to replace the door with an updated version. IM FLOORED. THIS IS HOW A BUSINESS SHOULD BE RAN. The Rep explained my issue was likely a manufacturing flaw in the battery compartment and they are going to make it right in order to redeem their reputation. I’m updating my review to five stars because I’m so impressed by the outstanding customer service. I got this for my second coop and I totally regret it. Do yourself a favor and Spend the extra money for a door that opens and closes with the sun . This door is unreliable. The time wont stay set and randomly closes and locks the chickens either in and out. I don’t recommend. It takes 3 aaa batteries and they will not stay in place. The batteries pop out and Iv even stuffed a napkin in there it to keep the battery’s in snug so it won’t reset and it just won’t stay programmed. I regret buying this and wish I would have just got the expensive one like the one I got it in 2020 and it’s still going strong. 🐓 🏃‍♂️ unfortunately it worked as it should the first 4 months and now I’m outside my return window so what a waste. Not functional.

The door itself was easy to install. Set instructions were easy to follow. Although, it doesn’t have a choice, you must use military time. Operation wise… It worked great the first few times it opened and closed, then suddenly it sounds like it is struggling to operate. It is slower and slower every night. It stops 1-2 inches from closing and either bounces back up or just stops where it is. Nothing is in the way. I’m standing there watching it. Seems to open fine, but closing just doesn’t seem right. I may return it and get another one. See if it works any different.

Funktioniert einwandfrei und zuverlässig! Easy Einbau und Einstellung der Zeiten. Für den Preis top! Vorher hatten wir die Klappe eines namhaften Herstellers, die oft gezickt hat und der ich nicht wirklich getraut habe. Auch das Einstellen der Zeiten war deutlich komplizierter.

Puerta automática que compré para proyecto de mi gallinero. Nunca había tenido problemas con los zorros pero llevo un año que no dejan de saltar a mi gallinero. Compré está puerta para hacer un habitáculo totalmente cerrado donde puedan dormir las gallinas por la noche y ahí es donde está puerta de gallinas hace su función. Una vez que está anocheciendo las gallinas entran a dormir al gallinero en ese momento se pone que se cierra la puerta y una vez que amanece se deja todo el día la puerta abierta. De esta manera evitas que entren las alimañas a atacar a las gallinas ya que siempre es por la noche cuando entran. Es muy fácil de configurar, con tan solo poner 3 pilas AA, configurar la hora y poner hora de apertura y hora de cierre de puerta está ya todo listo. Recomendable para todo el que se quera ahorrar en disgustos con las alimañas del campo como zorros, jinetas, hurones...

I bought one of these automatic doors back in May because my bantams kept waking me up ridiculously early every morning begging to be let out. When the door arrived I tested it out by putting my hand under the door as it closed. It left a mark on my hand but sure enough the door slid back up once it had made contact, albeit quite a firm contact. I was concerned for the tiny bones and bodies of my small bantams and emailed the company expressing my worries. Incredibly, they emailed me back within a few hours with a reassuring message. I decided I'd give the door a go but keep a very close eye on my girls going in and out for a while. It was easy to install once we'd decided where to place it on the coop. We simple removed the side door on the coop and with the addition of a small square of plywood the new door fitted in the space where we removed the old door. My girls learned to use the automatic door very quickly and have never been caught in the opening as I had feared they might. They certainly appreciate getting out early in the morning. It's very easy to set and adjust the timer as the days get longer or shorter and the girls change their mind about what time they want to get up or go to bed. The batteries are very simple to fit and they are sealed well against any wet weather. It's a nice surprise that the batteries last for a very long time. The first set of batteries I installed over four months ago are still working perfectly. On the whole this automatic door has been an absolute success and well worth the money. Response and service from the seller was great. I have no hesitation in giving my purchase 5 stars + .
