Good light but bad clip!! Lost light first day out at work , so disappointed!! Was really excited about this lil guy , I have one other ultratac and it's one of my favorites!! And this one had all the potential, simple 3 mode, no mode memory ,strobe ,nor s.o.s . Was just wanting something simple for work ,Really really hate the fact that they put out a good product with a flimsy clip ,don't know if they'll replace but until I get it figured out I ordered other lumintop tool (2.o )this time around after giving original tool away ..only gets 3 stars , clips are an important part of the light and should be taken in consideration by manufacturer ... UPDATE!!!!! the company contacted me and they are replacing light !! I can't say how much it's appreciated, , costumer service is just as important! And that's why I'm giving it 5 stars, I have full confidence in them sending it... Update: got my light , can't say how much I like There products!!! Give one a try!!!!

This is my first Ultratac torch, and I am very impressed. It has solid construction, good knurling, and a very compact size. I love the 3 well-spaced modes, which are activated via the sequence of low -> medium -> high. It doesn't have memory (which I prefer), so it always fires up on its one-lumen low (via NiMH battery), which preserves night vision when navigating the house at night. The ability to use a 14500 battery for extra oomph is very nice, and I also dig the torch's tailstandability coupled with the long-lasting glow-in-the-dark diffuser, which also fits other torches.The only thing I don't like about this torch is the clip because its narrow gap makes it challenging to secure the torch to thicker pockets, and when secured, too much of the torch sticks out of my pocket. So, I removed the clip and installed a black one from a Thrunite T10, as shown in the picture. I used epoxy to secure the clip to the torch because I have no interest in swapping the clip position to try to secure the torch to a hat. I tried other clips first, which is my the anodizing shows scratches in the picture.I totally recommend this torch and will probably buy a couple more as backups, in case this model is discontinued one day.

This review is unrequested and I bought the item myself after hours of research, the TLDR here is buy this light and stuff in a proper 14500 right this minute, literally any other choice is the wrong choice. Absolutely stellar, right out of the box I was super impressed with all the accessories from the very effective glow in the dark diffuser, to the extra rubber rings to make sure your waterproof seal is solid for years to come and even an included battery installed and ready to blind your enemies. I love a good flashlight, always spend hours browsing and comparison before I add one to the collection. In this case I was looking for an EDC light on the small side, boy was I surprised to see this tiny guy actually lived up to the promised specs. Right away you'll notice the build quality on this beauty which is for sure top tier and I have not a single complaint there, all the machine work is rock solid and the seals are on point. The button has excellent response and feels good and tight. Powering up for the first time I thought there was an issue but rather I was using the included AA in the middle of the day and it turns out we power on to the lowest setting (which is vastly superior to powering up to full tilt as most do and getting extra attention, there's also no memory to the switch so we always power on at low rather than where we left off which is vastly preferable for my purposes) and it was near impossible to see till I turned up the juice. I love how low "low" is on our friend here, it's more than enough light to check a map in the dark and would give you something like 200 hours on a standard AA. Finally check it out with full power and even in the middle of the day with a standard AA we have an excellent beam good for pretty much any purpose you'd be carrying the light for. Now it's time to really see what she's made of, replacing the included AA (and giving it a proper burial right in the trash) with my preferred cell the Vapcell 1000mAh ICR14500 we see that the value of this light just flat out simply can't be beat. At low power we're ready for any standard task, at high power we can identify a Target at 100 yards with ease. The amount of light from this flipping thing that is not much bigger than the battery powering it is just astounding, far more effective than most lights 4 times the size, infinitely more effective than any light not using high-cap high-drain batteries. Honestly if you're in the market for a small EDC flashlight the question is not at all which one to pick, it's how many of this light do you buy right now. I've since bought a total of 7, paired with them the ICR14500 and put them everywhere they may be needed as well as a couple gifts for the people that I truly care about, now I have absolute confidence that any trials they may face in life, the dark isn't going to be one of them. If I had to find a single flaw with this beauty it would be the clip is a bit stiff right out of the box, but even a few days in it's cooperating with thick jeans. Make the order, fall in love.
