So my family was not a part of my regular dental hygiene routine growing up and my dentists have never mentioned it. While shopping around for a toothbrush, this popped up as a suggestion. I was genuinely surprised to see so many people have used it and people are raving about it. In the past when I've had sore throats, I will often get thrush due to sucking on cough drops for a long time. I was thinking that maybe this would help with that. Plus it was inexpensive so I thought I'd give it a shot. As soon as it arrived I was a little nervous because the box was not sealed with tape or anything. Thankfully the tool is in a sealed plastic bag so I didn't have to worry about it being a return from a previous customer without being sanitized (I've unfortunately had things like this happen with other products so it was top of mind). I used it right away and wow! Without getting into detail or grossing people out, I can confirm that this does wonders. I've been using it every night and have noticed that if I eat anything late it will scrape off residue that I can't even see otherwise. I also get the added benefit of waking up with less bad taste in my mouth. The tool itself is extremely easy to use and there is really no way you can mess it up. It is not harmful and it comes with a carrying case to easily store. I leave it with my toothbrush and rinse it off after every use. Occasionally I'll do a quick swipe with an alcohol-soaked swab.

This is the second set of stainless steel scrapers I’ve bought in the past few years. Both work great and very effectively coesn your tongue when used first thing in the morning, before drinking, eating, or brushing teeth. But I do find this open handle style to work better for scraping your whole tongue (not too far back!) quicker than the closed circle style, and it’s much more sanitary for storage. Both sets provided travel cases, but I’m not the type of person to reliably use those so my other just got thrown in a drawer most of the time which I didn't love. This one, I can hang on the side of a cup that I keep on my vanity and the tongue scraping part doesn’t touch anything else. Glad I bought!
