We installed lightwave light switches throughout our flat when re-wiring, it's been 1.5 years now
We're very happy with these switches overall and I really want to give them 5 stars, but there's a few downsides I'll get to in a moment. First things first though, they're solidly made and look and feel great quality. The LED indicators are great for finding the switch in the night. The app is quick and simple to use for both everyday turning lights on/off and up/down, and also for creating lighting schemes. You can of course use various home assistants to control them, but we like the app and mostly use that. We're using them with Philips LED bulbs and getting nice smooth dimming from very low up to full brightness. One of the good uses for this is we're using one of these switches for the bathroom - which required placing the switch outside the bathroom by the door, but the advantage is we can set our bathroom lights on a very low setting overnight to use as a nightlight. They've been extremely reliable and always respond quickly to commands in the app. This is in contrast to the cheaper smart switches at a friend's house which often don't respond and cause a lot of frustration. The matte white finish has held up great and looks the same as when they were new. Be aware that the switches are quite deep and bulky so might need deeper back boxes in the wall, and possibly the included spacer to give them a bit more room. Some of the last gen lightwave products (they're branded 'lightwave connect') are compatible with the newer hubs and can be incorporated in to your smart lighting system. This has been extremely useful for us as one of the last gen products was plug in dimmer modules that allow you to turn a regular table lamp in to a smart lamp. These are extremely useful for us as we have a lot of table lamps. But this is where some downsides come in - theres no current equivalent product. There's on/off sockets and plug in modules in the current lightwave range, but nothing that can dim a plug in lamp. The best option to get a dimmable smart lamp in your Lightwave ecosystem with current products would be to install a Philips Hue bulb in the lamp and connect it to the lightwave app - which it does have a simple way to do, but this does limit the choice of bulbs. And that's a problem when you want to do interesting things like decorative filament bulbs, for example. I'm making them down to 4 star because I think plug in lighting is very important and should still be fully supported with a current dimmable product. Hopefully they'll launch something again in the future.

Works fast, much better than old system
So I bought this because I have a lot of the older lightwave and Siemens equipment from long ago. I needed to add to the system and so I had to change my hub, add a lightswitch an a socket. All my old connect series equipment paired up well. I have also been able to bing into smartthings so I can control from our Samsung tv. The new sockets actually have power monitors in them, so you can see what power is being drawn! This is awesome. Allworks with amazon Alexa, seems to work faster than he old system, even with the older smart series devices. Ther thermotstat programming is much improved and functions as a new generation device, even though I've had it 5 years! If they could get this down to £30 per double socket and £20 a switch they would take over the UK! The new devices and trhermostats are controllable from homekit on apple.

Hub supplied is not designed to work with older lightwave products
The all-white hub shown in the images is model L2, which is backwardly compatible with the older “connect” series of products from lightwave. The hub supplied is model LP2, which is not. So if you *dont* have any existing lightwave products, this kit is fine. If you *do*, then you need to check which series they are before purchasing this kit.
