Simple soft lights
Like some of the other reviewers have said you do have to be careful installing these lights -- can't pound them in with a hammer, of course they'll break. I hammer a metal spike into the ground first and then remove it to make room for the plastic spike. Then you have to lower a metal pipe, longer than the light stand itself, over the light stand and tap the plastic anchor spike into the ground gently. The connector is junk too, won't last one winter in the ground, but what else is new, almost all 12v landscaping lights come with junk connectors and you have to sub your own that are rated for direct-bury. All that aside, these are very good lights in my opinion. Low, simple, nice brightness and pretty small circle of light, without lighting up the path or garden like a stadium. They're also low enough where you won't see the glare of the bulb itself unless you're lying on the ground. We just expanded our garden and bought two new ones, but we also have three of this same model that are at least ten years old and they're still in perfect shape, no deterioration at all that I can tell including the pin sockets, even through harsh and snowy South Dakota winters when sometimes they get completely buried in snow. We have subbed LED bulbs into the older ones, as long as you get around 2700K (warm white) bulbs they looks almost exactly the same.

a bit dim, but an easy fix
Standard 10W halogen bulbs a bit on the dim side, so after one bulb burned out in only about 2 months, I replaced the halogen with 20W equivalent light output LED bulbs. Now I'm super happy with them.

Nice path or garden light!
I've purchased these for several years now as I continue to add to existing landscaping. These are only 10 watts but provide tremendous light due to their cone shaped canopy forcing light down toward your path or plants. Easy to install with low voltage wire. These come with plastic stakes which screw to the bottom of the light fixture then press into the ground. If you are installing these in a high traffic area and these lights are prone to getting knocked around, the stakes will break off eventually in the frozen ground or hard clay soil. I would recommend purchasing the upgraded metal stakes which are virtually unbreakable under any circumstance. I would definitely recommend these lights and would purchase again.

nice!
I had bought this line of lights before and wanted to add to the string, but they are no longer offered. Fortunately, these were found on line and match the 'old' ones perfectly. Been working well, too.

Could not be happier
These lights are exactly what I had hoped for. I have a long walkway with some levels that are hard to see. I tried solar lights they did nothing. I purchased these and want a difference. They provide so much light, are on a timer and so easy to install. I have two of the spot lights shining on my two Japanese Maples. I wish I had installed them sooner instead of wasting money on solar lights. I purchased the package that had the transformer, wire, four spot lights and six tall ones. I purchased an additional four tall ones. Worth every penny.

Couldn’t believe I found these.
I had been looking for one that matched the rest in my front yard. Thought that these would work. Ordered them and they came in quickly. They were the exact match! Installed them and they work wonderfully. Great purchase.

Easy to install as replacement
Very easy to install. Although the instructions say not to use a hammer, the soil is very rocky, so I put a crescent wrench onto the plastic pipe part and lightly tapped it into the ground, hitting the wrench. Dug up the existing power wire and clipped right onto it. Matches my existing lights close enough. They are on each side of a sidewalk and provide sufficient light for night walking.

Just add LED lights and this is perfect!
I had bought already a 6 lights set previously so I bought some extra ones as I have been able to change the bulb to LED. With the lower power consumption, i can then have more attached to one transformer. These lights are solid - having them for about 5 years. The did not rust even with all the rain that we got. I had to replace some of the stakes because kids have been playing around...
