Great Book!
Trust me, I've read them all, just like you and I was still searching for answers of why I can not lose weight, but NO more searching. Fianlly someone has answers to why, no matter what I do, nothing changes! And it's not like I haven't tried and tried, for years. "The Dukan Diet", 18 months ago began my search for solutions. Many books written about low carb diets, and addresses the difficulty that many are experiencing with trying to get to a healthy weight, but few books provide 'doable' solutions. This book is different, for many reasons.First, Dr. Turner is a knowledgable author with a real grasp of a nationwide epidemic regarding carb intolerance. Everything you'd ever want to know about carbs, insulin reisitance, hormone imbalance, cell resistance to insulin, and inflammation is covered in great detail in this book, and is very easy to understand. If only the solution would be as easy.That's my next point: The author provides easy to follow steps for individuals, at different stages of intolerance; so everyone whom reads this, can get their own step by step program towards a solution to properly behaving cells that process insulin how your body's meant to.Third: The recipes included (like 19 protein/smoothie recipes) are easy to prepare, using readily available/normal ingredients. They all sound delicious!Here's the difference, when my last book "The Plan" got to the recipie section, I totally lost interest! The recipies were just too weird! I had no intension to try any of them .......and that's when I began my Amazon search again.I saw Dr. Turner on the Dr. OZ Show, and decided to try yet another book.I can't wait to start on this plan! but I want to read the entire book, first. Just can not find time quickly enough to finish up! The chapters in the book are designed to easily jump around. I have found the kindle version great, for wanting information now! But for searching chapters, jumping around is much easier with a book (which I will probably purchase anyways) but I was impatient and could not wait.I wanted to share with you, that this book is worth your time and money, if you haven't given up, try one more diet book. This one is DIFFERENT. See for yourself! (You can always return it.) Once I'm finish reading, and start her program, and will update my review. But while I continue reading, I will be trying out some of her smoothie recipes this weekend!I did also purchase "The Hormone Diet, A 3-step program..." and returned it. This being her newer book: "the Carb Sensitivity Program" is a complete package.

High Protein and High Flavor
This program works...if I could just stay on it. Probably the best recipes of any weight loss program I've encountered...love the smoothie recipes, the Tuna Waldorf Salad is one of my favorites, along with the Wasabi Whitefish, the Portobello Mushroom Omelette, Salmon with Strawberry Salsa, and more. High protein, high flavor and low in carbs. I bought the Kindle edition first, but found it difficult to use due to page breaks and other formatting issues, so I went back and purchased the print edition, which is much easier to use. The introductory information is very helpful, and offers advice on supplements. But in the end...still a "program" that takes time to plan and prepare and therefore easy to neglect if you aren't on top of it every day.

I appreciate the careful writing and research that supports this program. I have lost about 8 lbs and two inches in my abdominal area, my primary goal, not as fast as I hoped, but it is happening. I am 75 years old and active and have had a weight problem most of my life with the typical yo, yo-ing following weight loss. Believe me, after this many years of trying to find the magic potion, I feel more hopeful by the research and clarity of this program that is most heartening.

A New Perspective on Carbs!
Having had great success with a low-carb approach to diet, this book is an excellent resource for anyone who really wants to see how adressing the effects of carbs in their diet can improve their quality of life. Dd. Turner's common-sense approach is easy to follow & incredibly effective. If you want to lose weight, no matter how much or little, improve your mood & general quality of life, I highly recommend this book. Having lost 80 pounds & improved my health immeasurably, I can say that this book can change your life. If I can do it, anyone who has an ounce of commitment can. All the best to those who try.

Finally! The answer to MY weight problem solved with this fantastic book!
I have had weight issues all my life due to accidents and recovery. It wasn't because I overate or did not work out it was because of my hormones. I have had to trick my body several times by changing my diet and changing my exercise routines to lose weight. But after having my first child at age 40, I could not get the weight off! Even doctors couldn't help me :( I saw this book and read the basic info on it and I thought just maybe there would be something useful in THIS book. And there was!!!! I have already lost weight and I am still on the program. I highly recommend this book to anyone who knows that they eat right and exercise right but just can't lose the weight. I believe that you will find the answer in this book.

Only if you want to change totally how you eat and go Full Force Paleo.
I was loving this book until I got to the part of completely changing your eating habits to Paleo. I understand that you have to omit carbs to find out which ones someone is highly sensitive to eating. And for those of us that just want to decrease the carbs and not clean the cabinets of everything that comes in a bottle or to make a pancake or muffin this book is not for you. I have stopped as I am not on the Total Paleo Train. I will probably not get to finish this book as it just isn't the direction I am going in at this time.

I am only two weeks into this plan, and am not sure about it yet. I have been very tired and lethargic, but there could be other factors at work. The information is good, but could have been organized a bit better. It is a little difficult to follow at times. That said, I think it is a good system

Most of this information is out there. I tried this for a while, but soon lost interest in staying with it

It really works.
Takes a long time to get to the issues at hand. A lot of very interesting science that will help teach you for life...at times too much!Hard to take it all in and remain focused on ridding ONLY the bad carbs from your diet.Follow this books guidelines (when you get to them) and you WILL feel better almost right away.Dr. Turner is a master of this. Listen to what she says!

My digestion has improved and the pounds are coming off. Definite signs of carb sensitivity that I now see.

Interesting theory
I read this book understanding the effects of too many carbs/sugars in out diets. The diet is however, very difficult to begin. I am a carb junkie!

Great book and if you follow the diet it works
Great book and healthy diet to follow, if you can convince yourself you don't need or want potatoes or bread for the rest of your life. Lost weight quickly, but as soon as you eat carbs, it comes back on.
