Organic Red Bell Pepper

Amazon Grocery is one of the best features I've ever found! These bell peppers arrived fresh, firm, beautiful, and tasty! Great item! Great price! Great for your health! Great size! Always arrive in such lovely condition!

Generally, very good with red reputed to be the sweetest, followed by orange, yellow, & green—if you don't use sweeteners, you'll be able to taste vegetables' natural sweetness. When purchased individually, there's never been a rotten or even marginal one & they last a good week under refrigeration. Sometimes they're quite large, approaching 5-inches high. Can't speak to their cooking ability, though, since I always deseed & eat them raw after cutting them into rings & the very top into individual pieces at the ribs. Often, the peppers are so large that I must cut their tops into bite size pieces. Fresh bell peppers actually make a very good snack since they're more nutritious than an apple &, of course, have fewer calories. And yes, they will ripen further in a brown paper bag, just like apples. But I wouldn't risk it due to their over 90% water content & a rotten pepper smells just like a rotten tomato.

Our family is a big consumer of bell peppers and these things are super expensive specially if buying organic. I was pleasantly surprise to see these for 32 cent a piece. That’s like 1/8 the cost of regular grocery store for organic bell peppers. Irrespective of cheaper price the quality is too notch’s the bell peppers were fresh, crisp and tasted great and were of good size.

Great quality and value. I was hesitant ordering produce from Amazon. But who wants to fight the crowds at a grocery store for one item? I took the chance and was pleasantly surprised. They smelled wonderful, color was bright and taste was great. They were actually larger than the ones that I have been purchasing at my local store. I didn’t use them all and found them to have a longer shelf life than expected. I will definitely add these to the cart when needed in the future.

Organic bell peppers are $2.29 EACH right now at our Fred Meyer store. So when I saw this offered for just $1.03 EA through Amazon Produce (Whole Foods), I thought, "No way will this be any good. It'll be tiny, or bruised, or old, or have a bad spot, etc." I was totally wrong. This bell pepper was shiny, firm (more firm even than the last ones I bought at Fred Meyer). Not a single bruise or bad spot on it. It was medium/large-sized, and seemed so perfectly ripe that I wanted to cut it up immediately and snack on it. I honestly rarely get that high-quality of a bell pepper at Freddie's. And at such an incredible price difference, too!? Totally amazing, and it's going into a stir fry tonight. I think I found my new source of organic bell peppers!!!
