Redmond Real Salt - Sea Salt, Unrefined Kosher, 16 Oz Pouch (1 Pack)

The Redmond Real Salt was a first time I purchase for me, and I was slightly hesitant, because one pound was $10! This pink salt is sourced from a single spot in Utah. This pink salt rocks, both in the way it tastes and how little is needed for seasoning your food. A little goes a long way! It also has a lot of other trace minerals in the salt. The only thing I don’t like about the salt is if you’re eating on a cold salad or salad, the grains of salt is kind of difficult to dissolve so sometimes it can seem gritty. The sodium content is 530 mg per 1/4 teaspoon, so it is average as any other salt.

I was introduced to this salt by a Chef in Las Vegas. This salt contains natural minerals and is less harsh than regular salt. It is also more attractive as the flecks of minerals are visible, adding flecks of color.. Because it is so flavorful, I find I use less in both cooking and at the table. I feel this is healthier for everyone but particularly for those with high blood pressure. Disclaimer: I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn and I'm not a Physician! But I see both my Mom and hubby, both of whom have to watch their blood pressure, using less of this salt and their numbers are good. At the table, I prefer the coarse version and grind it fresh while my husband prefers the finer table salt. I use both the fine and Kosher for cooking. For special occasions, I shave some fresh off the 5 pound chunk shipped to me directly from the mine. That chunk of salt is a prized possession and kept under domed glass on a cheese tray for display because it is so unique and beautiful. Tip: Take baking potatoes, scrub, pat dry, pierce, wipe down with olive oil and sprinkle generously with Kosher RealSalt. Bake directly on oven racks 60 minutes at 350 degrees in a conventional oven or 50 minutes at 340 degrees in a convection oven. You'll never go back to regular plain baked potatoes! Once I tried the RealSalt, I got rid of the grocery store salt. While RealSalt is more expensive than grocery store salt, the taste is far superior and you use less., so I think the cost is a wash. Treat yourself and try this wonderful salt - you won't be sorry!

This brand of salt is awesome! We used this for pickling cucumbers, and it worked perfectly!!

I saw a documentary on the mining process in Utah that gets this salt. They grind it out then bag it up and ship it to you. That's it, they don't add or subtract anything from it. It contains all the nutrients of vitamins and minerals that our bodies naturally need. Iodized salt bleaches out all the good stuff, bur this salt is great for your body, it even has a very slight sweet taste if you put it under your tongue. I usually don't care for salt that much but I do find myself getting a few grains and sticking it under my tongue. I'm so impressed with this that I'm even taking it out to California and giving some to my sons I think they will benefit greatly from it. My body actually seems to feel better since putting some of these vitamins and minerals back into my body. Thank you so much "REDMOND" Company and family for finding and sharing this salt with us. The documentary states that our body is made of approximately 90% water which contains just about the same amounts of minerals that is found in our oceans. Millions of yrs ago Utah was under water, which explains why there is this salt mine underground. So get back to what our bodies require and get this salt. As you can tell I love this salt!!!

We’ve been using Redmond salt for the past three years. It’s our regular salt for cooking and at the table. It tastes clean with a bit of natural mineral flavor that makes food pop without being too strong or salty. Easy to grind, no junk added, just plain unrefined salt from an old underground source. Feels simpler and better than regular table salt for everyday stuff.
