The Message Scribe Bible (Hardcover, Dark Walnut): Featuring The Message by Eugene H. Peterson

Got this for my 11-year-old nephew. -- he loves it! He loves that he can take notes in it and that it is written more like a narrative and is much easier to understand than other versions of the Bible. He does like comparing it to more traditional translations, too. The book itself is sturdy, and the firm cover makes it easier to write in (I have a similar NIV Bible, but it is a soft leather cover, which makes it harder to write in.). The paper is not too thin, but I recommend using a very fine ball point to write in it.

A beautiful bible. Designed very well. I just recently introduced myself to The Message bible. If you enjoy expanded translations, you will enjoy this bible. I love the way it reads, easy and flowing. Very modern without losing the original intent.Ghosting is minimal. Pages are thick, wide margins are lined for serious note taking. Chapters are divided. Light font used for verse grouping, not distracting.

The perfect Bible as I journal what God is revealing to me about Himself. I am also able to write out my prayers of repentance and commitments to Him as I read His Word. I am reading through the Bible chronologically in 2018 and having such a rich time communing with God in His Word... the margins gives me the opportunity to share my heart with Him! And the message translation makes the dialogue between us even easier!
