Modway Engage Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Fabric Loveseat in Expectation Gray

I purchased a pair - one Teal, one Azure. Both advertised as free delivery. The boxing/packaging was great, attaching the legs were easy and I like the kangaroo pouch underneath for the shipping cover and other secrets. The upholstery fabric does like to attract tiny little cotton balls - I use packaging tape from USPS to remove when necessary. I read the other reviews, did my measuring and am overall very happy with them. I am 5'7" and can fully stretch out and take a nap, and yes, they are firm. The Azure sofa was shipped from somewhere in California and the Teal sofa was shipped from somewhere in New Jersey. The California Azure was exactly as described. The seating on the New Jersey Teal is not nearly as firm as the California Azure. The two cushions are off from one another in size, so the middle button seam coming down the back of the sofa doesn't match the gap between the cushions and the stitching is a bit off in places. The foam used in the cushions is softer, and there is now a noticeable depression in the cushion. The California Azure is still very firm. When the California Azure arrived, one skinny dude (the driver) with a dolly got it up all 40 steps to my 3rd floor unit via the back stairs all by himself and in less than 10 minutes. He waved off my gratuity attempt with a 'have a nice day'. No good deed goes unpunished. When the New Jersey Teal arrived, I was grateful that my friend from Brooklyn was here to help me understand the situation. The drivers of the truck, I guess, drove all the way out here, spoke very little English, but enough to let me know that they were charging me X number of dollars per step to deliver up to my unit, amounting to an easy Ben Franklin apiece, otherwise they would drop it in the alley right where they were. I said fine. My friend from Brooklyn, explained what was happening to me as he apparently has seen this before, told the drivers that they were by contract obligated to get it inside the building. The two of them struggled to get it in the building, and my friend from Brooklyn and I carried it up the rest of the way. Accented with bright yellow and fuchsia pillows, they look great.

We purchased this Loveseat as our main sofa for our small apartment in 2020. We received delivery to our 3rd floor unit and assembled it pretty easily, and this piece has HELD UP as we go into 2025! THINGS WE LOVE: It's durable, easy to clean despite it's lighter color and an active toddler boy, and has survived a move with little care or preparation. The narrow arms means that for the 7' wide footprint, you can fit more people when entertaining. The height is great as it's easy to get up from for our older family members. We spot clean as needed, and have also fully removed the seat covers, washed them, and put them back on nearly dried (to avoid shrinking) with no issue. THINGS TO CONSIDER: The seat cushions do soften overtime, but are initially more firm than you may expect! Same with the back, but with such a deep seat, our plan was always to use throw pillows to soften the look and feel. As two taller people, we enjoy having something deep enough that we don't feel pushed off when adding pillows. The firmness means it keeps it's shape easier and doesn't get as messy as other softer style sofas, which is great if you're like us and your family/living rooms are the same space.

We ordered this couch (technically a love seat) in July. Because it is the "Time of Covid" the shipping was delayed about 3 weeks. This is sold by an Amazon 3rd party vendor and delivered by a 4th party trucking company, so there are a lot of hands in the process. Note that because of this, what is says on your Amazon order status is probably NOT correct. For example Amazon said it would be delivered on a Saturday, which the delivery company doesn't do, and then Amazon said it was lost on the Sunday. Just take Amazon's automated order status with a grain of salt. I spoke with the seller, KART-IT, several times on the phone for updates and they were polite and responsive and checked twice with the trucking company on delivery status. The trucking co has an automated system to call and schedule your delivery so they need a phone number for you. The delivery truck actually arrived 10 minutes early, so I give them props for being prompt. They do not carry the couch into your home, just to the porch or door so make sure you have someone to help you carry it inside. It comes in a cardboard carton and is wrapped in fabric, carefully done. The legs were inside a zippered pocket in the bottom - I thought that was clever. The color (azure) is gorgeous, and very mid-century which was our goal. The cushions are really firm. This is not a sink down and take a nap kind of furniture. Again, OK with us. The shorter size (70 in) fit our space and will allow us more options for arrangement with other furniture. All in all, it is a lovely couch at a good price. Love, love, love my new loveseat. I purchased this because I owned 2 Modway chairs years ago that still look great. I wanted something firm to replace my old sofa that was too soft for my back. I was reluctant because of the color, but it's really very nice. I'll just have to careful not to spill anything on it. BTW, it was cheaper on Amazon than other sites. Shipping information was a little sketchy at times, but it arrived okay and with no damage. My one minor complaint is that the legs could be better engineered.

I know everyone is saying that this loveseat is hard, and it is, but I like that. Ultimately the comments about the firm seat are why I bought it. I don't want to sink into a couch, I want to sit and feel supported. Now that aside, it is tall and long, too. If I sit all the way back my feet do not touch the floor. I don't mind this as I typically tuck my legs underneath my tushy anyway. If I lay on this loveseat I fit head to foot on the cushions without using the armrests. I am 5' 4". The fabric feels sturdy, but it is absolutely not in any way a good idea if you have cats. The woven fabric will not last. It feels as sturdy as a tank when I plop into it, and I like knowing for something that sits up off the ground it is safe. I love the look and feel of this couch and in the future, after my cat and dog ruin it, I plan on purchasing another just like it to replace it.

Just beautiful! It was packed well and came covered. I'm going to keep the cover for moved. We ordered the love seat because it's really just the size of a regular sofa. The cushions ARE very solid, but that's not such a factor for me because I feel it means it's more durable. The legs are solid wood, as is the frame. Delivery took only a week and they were actually half an hour earlier than scheduled. They called me 5 minutes before delivery and brought it into the living room. It was very easy to take out of the box and extremely easy to put on the legs. The fabric is a nicer quality than I expected. It's a very close weave. I'd describe it as a very short velour. We got the lighter grey, which is perfect because it is not so light as to be a problem in showing wear or stains. It's very much what you'd think of as grey.

The good: Smooth delivery, well packaged, very nice design, looks like it’s built well The bad: 1. uncomfortable (understatement), sitting cushions are hard as a rock. 2. you’ll need to be at lease 5.9” to reach the floor barefoot (and that’s assuming you add an additional back supporting throw pillow). 3.legs are too cherry; they should be more walnut tone to match more wooden colored furniture. Very nice sofa for display only. will probably stay in a “like-new” condition because no one wants to sit on it.

This sofa looks great! Unfortunately that is where it ended for me. Seat angle, depth of cushions and firmness isn’t for me, but if you love bus stops, church pews, and museums you will love this sofa!!

Though the delivery estimate was way off, the sofa was worth the wait.
