This is for Teens
This book is very pro-grade in its sketches, inking, and coloring, but be advised that (except for a background character in like, one page) its only characters are teenagers. Mostly girls.

For our 11 year old daughter
Our daughter loves to draw, mainly people. She has her own characters and draws them all the time with their unique looks. Lately she's been into anime drawing. So we got her this book for her birthday. She loved it! It shows how to draw from head to toe. She struggles with hands and it even shows a break down on how to draw hands and feet. Worth the buy.

Excellent book.
I have many art instruction books written by Christopher Hart. I've been drawing around a year and half. What I really like about this book is clear instruction, and information provided that is not in some of the other books. All of the books have instruction, but I like the tips regarding hands and proper placement of eyes and mouths... and postures. The girl I drew, I colored with pencils, not markers... I also like the tips given regarding correct shadow placement. There is also a very nice section about constructing rooms... I'd certainly purchase the book again. I recommend it highly. I think a lot comes down to studying the books & practicing often. I would recommend the book for a beginner... (I still am a beginner...lol) .
