If you are looking to run memory intensive applications (video / audio editing, creative design software etc.) while effortlessly multitasking...this is the laptop for you. It will easily replace a desktop and give you plenty of mobile power! I plug mine in to a wireless keyboard and mouse and large monitor when in the office and it performs brilliantly as a dual screen piece of kit. In many cases, you will hit the limitations of the software before you hit the limitations of the CPU...something I never experienced with single or dual core! And a note on battery life...if you adjust your power settings accordingly you will get a good three hours from it from basic use. CPU intensive apps will reduce this time. It's a great laptop, very reasonably priced!

I bought this laptop as a replacement for my two year old Dell Inspiron. The Dell didn't need replacing, but I fancied treating myself with a new i7 machine. This HP was the standout choice with good pricing and an attractive design. I use the laptop for graphic design (Photoshop, InDesign), general use and gaming.The Good:-i7. In a laptop. That's awesome.-Decent all round specs - especially the i7 and 7200rpm 500GB hard disk-Graphics card is enough for Modern Warfare 2, BioShock 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 at max settings, native res with AA on too.-Good price-Great designThe Bad:-Battery life is abysmal. I can get about an hour, maybe a bit more out of it which in this day and age really isn't acceptable. Yes, I know it's running a full-fat quad core under the hood, but still....this is not a 17'' desktop replacement, it's a 15.6'' mid size, mid spec/price machine. Come on HP. Maybe a Core i5 would have been a better choice?-It's not actually as nippy as I thought it would be...it's no slouch, that's for sure, but it doesn't blow me away. I'm not sure if this is a clock speed issue (it only runs at 1.6ghz when all four cores are in use) or merely that I'm getting too used to the SSD in my desktop.-The touch controls under the screen are great, but why aren't there play/pause/skip buttons there as well? Having to hold FN and the F keys to change tracks is annoying.All in all, it's certainly a good machine but the battery life is quite frustratingly bad. Perhaps HP should offer a Core i5 model with the same specs.

Great laptop, with amazing features and reasonable weight. Unfortunately discontinued by HP. I bought it from Amazon and took over 1 month to receive. I just check and HP doesn't produces it anymore. It was worth anyways (so far). The await for the delivery was a bit of a headache but in the end it got it b4 the expected.

This is a excellent laptop for the price, the graphics and speed of the computer are amazing windows 7 is a little diffrent to windows xp but getting used to it is not that much of a problem. The battrey life as said before in a previous review does only last about a hour which is not very good for laptops these days, but if it is plugged in all the time as mine is its awsome great display speakers are decent and it can be hooked up to your tv if you have a hdmi port on the tv and hdmi cable. all in all this is a very good laptop for the price i am very pleased with it and im sure you will be aswell.

So far so good, I am a fan of HP and this is my fourth purchase so I'm not surprised at the build quality etc. Would recommend to anyone.

It is worth waiting for Amazon to re-stock this item, because in terms of their price, it's a great buy - especially against many of their competitors' prices. I waited, and what a bargain.I'm not a gamer, but this machine runs smoothly in everything that is thrown at it - obviously due to the high specs of this machine. With my old Core 2 Duo machine, I expected, and had, the occasional lag when running multiple apps, but this has none of that.I haven't come across the heating issue of this laptop, but then again, it hasn't been stretched as yet. The poor battery life doesn't concern me, as I am using it as a desktop replacement without the battery connected (as recommended by the HP manual).This was posted to a BFPO address and arrived perfectly (as would be expected). Also, an added incentive for BFPO customers is that you can get your VAT refunded on this item, so you end up paying even less!!Buy it.

The title says it all, here in my country we pay the same price for a core 2 duo laptop. It's safe to buy from here as the product is brand new, packed from factory and not opened. Else you know, windows 7 helps every processor! Very nice!
