I really enjoy the way this book is written. Succinct and almost like some of the popular ham study guides.

This book is on the rather technical side encompassing scratch building radio and antenna systems.. largely beyond the scope of the average amateur or short wave reception hobbyist.

Very thoughtfully put together-thorough review of subject(s)!Stan Gibilisco is a great teacher with the right amount of skill and experience!He hits the material covered with the right amount of finesse so as to be interesting and with no overkill!

Useful reference - be advised - as to be expected, this is written based on USA regs. Still good value for hams worldwide. Stan's knowledge comes across well as in his U tube mini tutorial vids - keep up the good work Stan!

Very interesting book

It is exactly what the title says -- "for the Electronics Hobbyist". If your background is not electronics, you'll have a very tough time with this book because it's written for that specific audience.My background is digital electronics, so I admit I had quite a bit of relearning to do to appreciate it all.

It came quickly, in excellent condition, and is a book, so, so good so far. This book is for my SO, and is a Christmas present, so I currently cannot vouch for it's awesomeness. I am unable to judge the content as I know nothing about short wave radio or electronics, and it might as well be written in Cuneiform, as far as I'm concerned.

Excellent intro to HAM. Got 85% on the mock exam just after the first reading. Superbe overview of the subjects. After this book you will know what to look for on more advanced books.
