Great orchid food, but came hard as a rock inside. If it happens to you too, it can be broken up by sticking something like a chop stick into a jar and stir it until it comes back to the right consistency. I gave 5 stars still, because I was happy to find my favorite orchid food.

This formula is uniquely for orchids and other soilless plants. This is a great size that will last most hobbyists for many months. Too long and it clumps. I use it from a pump sprayer one gallon at a time. Plain water to wake up roots. 15 to 30 minutes later, but before the roots dry spray a gallon of mix just once a week. An hour or so later use the hose again to rinse off any unused fertilizer. This method has saved me from burning the roots. You want urea free nitrogen because urea needs bacteria in the soil to break it down. This formula gets absorbed immediately without bacteria. This is very similar to SA Nitrate Special 20-10-20 used by professional orchid growers in my area who irrigate with hard water.

I like the results of this product. My orchids looks much better since I got it. Just take the usual precautions: use gloves, a sink that is only used for this purpose, mask etc. keep it away from pets and children etc I highly recommend it.

When I first opened the container, the fertilizer was rock solid yet extra moist. I had to use a skewdrivr to beak up the mixture. I complained to the company and never got response. Since then, it is easier to break up the fertilizer and use.

I love the product and have been using it for over 20 years… HOWEVER the product I’m getting from Amazon is no longer in crystal form (as it should be) but has solidified due to moisture. I returned one but got a similar problem with the second one. I will have to find it at a garden store to get the powdery crystals.

Years ago I bought the bigger size container of this food and recently bought the smaller version shown here. I have had such good results with my orchids that I bought it again. If it's not broke, why fix it?

I was very disappointed that the fertilizer was rocksolid when it arrived in the bottle. I was able to get it a little bit loose We are using it. I found all of the little packets I had that would take moisture out of the bottle and that has seem to help.

Right now my phal is growing a leaf and I fertilize it every second watering, which is about every week and a half before I water it again. It's funny because every time I fertilize it, it grows like a weed! Seriously! The leaf increases in size in just a few days! Then, usually 3-4 days before its next watering, it slows down and eventually stops until I fertilize it again. I'm almost thinking I should feed it at every watering. All in all, great stuff and orchids (at least phals) seem to like it!
