Handy, light weight, and if you do not have strong fingernails that is not problem. Once open the liner lock worked well on the 1st one. The 2nd one the lock did not function! Ascrew driver and ten seconds prying the lock mech loose solveed the problem but does not speak well for the attention to detail. So far it has held it' edge very well - opening boxes and other small chores. I think it is a great value for the price. After 2 months of EDC - I am impressed with every aspect of this knife. I do wonder about the add saying 'made in Japan" and no mention of the hardness of the steel in the add. It is clearly made in China and the steel is 3CR13. It is not a high quality steel but is easy to sharpen. I misplaced this knife for 3 days (It was in my jacket) and I felt that my other EDCs were not up to this little wonder. I have made one modification. Because it is so small I put a 1" split ring (like you might use for your keys) in the lanyard hole at the bottom of the handle. Now I slip my pinky into the ring and the knife feels much more secure.

Nice quality and great price. Would prefer a little larger version of same knife. Very sharp and easy to use.

A small, folding liner-lock knife, with a relatively chonky blade, full metal lining, and wooden scales. The blade is made of 3Cr13, which is a budget steel that may not hold an edge as long as others, but should be easy to sharpen. The scales are a carbonized beech, fairly dark on my example. Weight is a robust 72 grams (2.5 ounces), compared to the 45 grams of an Opinel No. 8. There is no pocket clip, but it could be carried on a lanyard (not included). Mine readily throws sparks when used to scrape a ferro rod. Fit, finish, and smoothness of operation are decent for the price. Per the information sheet in the box, it's made in China and manufactured by UAB Convenity, a Lithuanian company.

Mildly disappointed with the Matsato but I’ll keep it. The Matsota is heavy weighing in at 73 grams compared to my Openiel No 8 and Kershaw 120 which weigh 42 grams each. The Kershaw and Matsota are nearly the same length but the Kershaw fits my hand better. I do like the look and color scheme of the Matsota (‘hammered’ blade, orange ring at the blade pivot, dark wood grips). Workmanship is also good, blade does not wobble, blade is centered in frame, sharp out of the box. There is a drag when opening and closing the blade that I need to investigate. I would have liked the knife to have a pocket clip but I should have read the description a little closer to see it doesn’t come with one.

Sehr klein im gesamten Umfang, jedoch in guter Ausführung, zeigt sich dieses Messerchen mit schönen dunklen Griffschalen auf den beiden Platinen! Die für die Produkte dieser Marke typischen schwarzen Schmiedespuren zieren die Wangen der recht wuchtigen kleinen Klinge oberhalb des sauber ausgeführten Hohlschliffs! Der Schärfegrad könnte etwas höher sein, aber darüber lässt sich bekanntlich streiten und für mich stellt das keine Einschränkung dar. Was ich vermisse, ist eine Information über die Stahlsorte; der Begriff „Edelstahl“ reicht hier nicht aus! Die Platinen sind mit einzelnen kleinen Stegen versehen die durch die Griffschalen geschraubt sind. An der vorderen dieser Verbindungen steht die Klinge in geöffnetem Zustand an. Die Verriegelung funktioniert mittels eines Liners, welcher aus der von oben gesehen rechten Platine ausgeschnitten ist und nach dem Öffnen in Richtung Mitte schwenkt. In punkto Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sieht die Lage sehr gut aus, wobei ein Tag im Besitz noch kein Urteil über die Haltbarkeit ermöglicht. Sie festen Holzgriffschalen habe ich mit einem Tröpfchen Leinöl vor Feuchtigkeit geschützt, damit werden sie noch etwas dunkler. Insgesamt ein hübsches kleines Messer, gut gearbeitet, mit Potential ein Begleiter für jeden Tag zu werden! Rechtliche Anmerkung: Aufgrund des Daumenloches in der Klinge handelt es sich, entgegen der Beschreibung, sehr wohl um ein sogenanntes „Einhandmesser“ und damit unterliegt es dem Führverbot aus Paragraph 42 a des Waffengesetzes. Es ist nach Meinung der momentanen deutschen Gesetzbarkeit ein adäquater Grund notwendig, wie zb Pilze sammeln oder Brotzeit machen, um dieses kleine, putzige Messerchen zu führen!
