I love this stuff. I have dry, thick, half-gray hair that's wavy in some places and curly in others. Over the years, I have used a variety of gels and creams. Not to mention special shampoos and conditioners. And coconut oil. They all ended up making my hair feel heavy and dirty. Some made it dryer and several made my scalp itch, unless I washed my hair too often, considering it is so dry. This flaxseed gel makes the waves and curls defined, adds moisture, and it lasts. I can get up in the morning and refresh curls easily, either with damp fingers or a tad more Gel. It 's remarkably light and clean feeling. And it doesn't take much at all. No itchy scalp. No stiff hair. And, it smells great--not a strong smell, just pleasant. My only wish is that it came in a glass jar or a milk carton kind of container instead of plastic. Maybe even a milk carton type refill for the jar.

If you have curly hair, you need very little of this product; otherwise, you weigh your curls down. Smells great. Isn't greasy. Doesn't leave hair dried and clumped together in random spots. Lightweight. Makes my hair soft and gets rid of my frizz.

The smell is like a coconut vanilla & not overpowering or artificial. The hold this provides reminds me more of a pomade than a gel that dries/gives helmet hair. This is not something I would gravitate towards if you are looking for a hairspray like hold. This is more to tame edges/halo frizz while dry & use for hair styling while wet to maintain a light hold that still allows for movement. I have coarse thick hair that tends to be wavy & curly near the edges/nape of my neck. I have used this as an all over scalp treatment before showers & also daily around my edges. I even tried it in my eyebrows & it didnt irritate me. Four stars vs five because i wish the container were a tube because application can be messy using a jar.

This is my go to for finger coils and wash and gos now. This leaves no flakes at all! I was amazed. This gel held my hair for a week. I wash my hair once a week. I have 4b/4c hair and my hair was not hard or crunchy. It is a bit expensive for the size, so I will also try Aunt Jackie’s as a filler from time to time.

This is by far the best gel I purchased! My daughter has extremely dry curly frizzy hair that is so hard to manage. I used this to twist her hair and not only is her hair frizz free but feels amazing! Her hair is so soft and healthy from one use. I washed her hair and deep conditioned her hair and rinsed it. I then took each section and applied this gel and twisted it and immediately it looked amazing. The next day it was still soft and bouncy. Definitely purchasing more because the rest of family started using it after they saw her hair!

I wanted to love this for my 3b hair, especially because I'm trying to go less toxic but don't have the time to make my own flaxseed gel. Unfortunately it didn't work well with my hair. Initially it looks, nice but the curl hold wasn't there. Even after spraying the next morning there was little definition and my hair seemed almost dry, like too much protein. I'm going to stick to my leave in conditioner

This product is not fragrance free It has a very strong smell that is not glycerin or flax. I know what boiled flax smells like and I know what glycerin smells like and this is fragranced. If you were looking for a fragrance-free item do not buy this. Also the lid was dented and the package leaked everywhere.
