Rio Beach Bum Folding Beach Chair

I was ready to spend double the price on s Tommy Bahama chair until I checked them out at a local store. Either WAY too low or the height of a regular camping chair. This Rio is the perfect height so I don't look like a whale trying to get out of a net. It's also really comfortable and light-weight to carry.

Heaven, I'm in heaven! I only ever buy Rio chairs at the "easy in and out" height. A regular height chair is too high and makes you want to cross your legs or have a stool for your feet. The really low chairs are quite frankly too hard to get in and out of. This is the best height, and although the two I have had for years are holding up really well, I wanted to have a set of back-up chairs. We have a vacation home on the water and spend our afternoons on the dock. These chairs are so comfortable (wide seat, wide arm rests, padded head rest, cell phone holder, kindle holder!) that I can sit out there for hours.

Great for sitting, not great for carrying long distances. We purchased 2 for a recent beach vacation and it was awkward for one person to carry both approximately 2 blocks to/from the beach. Other than that, they are very comfortable and are a good height. You’re not on the ground nor too tall for a beach tent/canopy. Overall, they worked well for us.

This is a sturdy, comfortable chair with a side pocket and drink holder and carry strap. It is heavier and wider and better built than most. My only complaint is that the four positions are nearly the same. The chair adjusts from straight up to somewhat reclined. The chair reclines little and goes no where near flat.

Over the years, I've typically replaced my beach chairs every year or two because they just don't usually hold up that well when spending under $50. This RIO chair is the second one I've owned which is replacing another brand that has been subpar. Rios are very durable, comfortable, and show minimum wear and tear throughout the summer months. One bad part is that the cup holder is relatively useless and not wide enough; however, this gripe is commonplace with these types of beach chairs. All-in-all, I strongly recommend this chair. The fabric is fairly tough and the side pocket is oversized and good for car keys and a cell phone.

I like the design, construction and features. The design allows for a wide range of positions. It also sets high enough for ease of access but not too high for beach lounging. It is sturdy yet comfortable and light. The cup holder has elastic which stretches to hold a large cup. The side pocket has one velcro ( sunglasses ) pocket and a zippered pocket for small items like shells or jewelry. The armrests are wood with a hand hold for carrying. The shoulder strap could use a softer pad like micro-fiber over foam and not the rough stitching that scratches the sunburned shoulder.

I just love these chairs -- the most I've ever spent on beach chairs but I think you truly get what you pay for. Comfortable for long periods of time & just the right height off the sand to allow for easy & sudden jumps up to chase the kids around the beach. The wooden armrests are wide and comfortable. Cup holder size is a bit skimpy but that's a minor nit pick. Given the size & features the chairs are light when hauling back from the beach. Glad I made the purchase and look forward to more seasons of use!

This is the perfect beach chair for my husband. He's had hip replacements to both hips and was having trouble getting in and out of a regular beach chair. A friend with same issue bought another version of this chair. After trying hers, we ordered this one. Not only is it sturdy and easy to set up, it is lightweight. Carrying strap makes getting it to and from the car a cinch! He LOVES using it both at pool and the beach.
