Great Processor
I bought the i7-875 processor to build my first custom system. I like to keep desktops for 7-8 years so I wanted a high end processor. I purchased an ASUS P7P55d-E Pro motherboard for this processor even though I have no overclocking experience. Installed the processor with the basic 2.93ghz performance. Easily overclocked it using an air cooler to 3.91ghz just for fun. Don't forget to purchase a cooler for this chip or since it does not come with one. I'm running the processor everyday at 3.45ghz with no issues core temp around 51C when it's running full bore and 38C for most jobs. Jobs which took 11 minutues in the past to load not load in 2 minutes. Previous processor P4 3.2ghz. I bought Crysis just to stress the processor and graphics and the game runs smoothly with no hesitation. I highly recommend this processor to anyone wanting high end performance at a budget price. It's more expensive than a AMD 6 core and has better performance. Since it has fewer cores it actually performs all of my task faster (more power than the AMD overall and more power per core). The seller shipped the item quickly and it arrived on time in about 4 days. I give the seller and the processor 5 stars. I'm one happy customer!!!!

Very Fast
I have owned this for a month now. Very fast chip. Running it 24/7 at 4Ghz (133x30) on EVGA P55 FTW 200.I still don't know what the safe max CPU VTT is for this Lynnfield chip. I have seen some documentation that says 1.21v is the max and I have also seen some that says 1.4v is the max. Again I am talking about Max CPU VTT and NOT the max CPU core voltage, which many of you are probably thinking of.I have had it to 4.13 Ghz, but benches were the same as 4Ghz. 4Ghz idles at 27C and loads at 67C with a few hours of Prime 95. 8 hours of Crysis and BFB2 only loads it to about 50C Max.Hopefully the max safe VTT is indeed the 1.4v, Once I find out for sure I'll take this puppy to 4.3 to 4.5, Until I know for sure I am using 1.15v VTT with the 4Ghz with fully loaded 1.27v VCoreSome enthusiasts might buy the 860 for a little less money, but I think the higher base clock and the unlocked multi's of this chip are MORE than worth a few extra dollars over the 860.

High 7- 875k
Very good processors, with lot of velocity. You can push it very far from his limites if you know how to do.

DOA
I bought as an upgrade for the i3 chip I'm using now & when I put it in the computer wouldn't boot.Still waiting for an RMA.

Fun but not practical.
If you enjoy overclocking your machine, than this is the chip for you. Easy to configure, high head room and not too high a price. It is weeks of fun.Down side is after the over clock this will perform pretty much the same as a i7-950.

Great CPU
Excellent CPU, got it up to 4.05Ghz on H50 water cooling. Adjustable turbo modes make a big difference to the power consumption.

Decent processor, but a little pricey
I bought this processor back in august and it has been working great. It's easy to overclock and works great with any 1156 motherboard. Installation was easy and I have had no problems since then. One thing I didn't like about this processor was the price. I understand it's unlocked, but even at the time, there were comparable processors for cheaper. Other than that, it's a great processor. The extra 4 simulated cores work wonders along with the 4 physical ones. I bought this processor to build a new computer so that I could render videos faster, and the difference is very noticeable. If you're looking for a solid i7 processor this is a good buy.

This is in my current video unit - works great
I run my video server/recorder on this and it is a wonderful gadget. I run it at standard specs and it runs cool and quiet with my attached Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus. I have never had a bad Intel cpu and this one is just one more in a long line if ever better cpu's. This is also the unlocked unit and is very overclock able. for those who want to enjoy more speed.
