Honeywell Nugget Ice Maker Chewable Ice 38 lbs Per Day, One Click Operation, Large Ice Storage, 1 Gallon Water Tank

First of all, I think I ordered 3 or 4 different sonic ice makers. I sent all of them back for various reasons. I LOVE this one.I hooked it up to a waterline and got a filter. The machine is worth it just for that reason! I hated having to fill my old one with water from the tap.Pretty easy to hook up too. There is a customer service number, which we did have to call for a quick question. They answered quickly and knew what we were asking. So that was good!I love the easy easy to drain the reservoir.The ice tastes delicious and it makes a LOT of ice very quickly. We have a family of 4 using it all day every day. There's plenty to go around.You won't regret spending a little more to get the waterline connection! Most units in this price range don't have that capability.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Instruction packet fairly useless and incorrect. Made ice the first two days, makes a lot of noise. Third day it decided to do a cleaning cycle and now will not make ice. I like the external tank to fill, the hose on the back to drain is a very poor design. Returning this non-working unit. I really dislike the "partial refund" option Amazon offered. $60 to keep a non-working unit? Makes no sense. They made returning non-working items as difficult as possible. Just about done with Amazon, their delivery is slow, Prime video is garbage and now returns are difficult. It's a shame.

Been through lots of nugget ice machines, GE opal, Mueller, other chinese brands and none of them last more than a year regardless of price. This one remains to be seen, but I will say it definitely makes ice faster than the others and also has a much larger ice bin, so it runs out way less often. Also has an led blue light for the ice bin for ambiance. Not as loud as the others. So far it is the best one yet, time will tell how long it lives.

The Honeywell ice maker with the side water tank looks good, is easy to set up and use, holds a large amount of ice, and creates the perfect ice nuggets. HOWEVER, it is so loud that we feel as though we have to yell to talk over it. We thought our previous ice maker was loud, but the Honeywell is obnoxious. Also, the one we received was missing the plug inside the ice bin to allow it to drain properly as the ice melts. I contacted Honeywell through the information provided by Amazon, but never received any response. It will be returned.

Construction wise look very sturdy and nice. Yes it’s very big, the functions super simple to be honest: ice, clean and on/off.When you get the tank option you don’t get the connection for plumbing. Tank big enough; I send it back, kind slow ice producing, noise acceptable.Machine assembly super easy just connect the pipe to the tank. Not the best fit for me because I don’t need or want the machine producing ice 24/7

This machine comes with parts incase you need it, which is great. Tubing for the waterline, 3 way plastic adaptor, pressure regulator, and a metal adaptor with a valve. We had these things already for our previous ice makers (that broke) so that it could connect to the water line behind the fridge. No other seller did. This machine made ice QUICK. I probably had a full tub of ice within an hour. The light is a nice touch and we turn it on at night. Ice is still there in the morning. Cleaning it is alright. My only issue with cleaning it is i don't get a clear enough view of the bottom to wipe. But it drains nice and fast, filter comes out easy for me with my nails. Lol. Quite a well. It does make a noise every once in a while but I've come to expect it since this is my third ice maker.It's not all the time either. Like once a week, maybe. Hopefully this last longer than the others. Will update otherwise.

The good:- It’s relatively easy to set up- it makes great ice- it’s simpleThe bad:- It’s really noisy. You will hear it everywhere in a 1bedroom apartment- it fails to uptake enough water and needs constant adjusting or troubleshooting.- the ice bin isn’t temp controlled so ice will stick if you put it in a ziplock bag and try to freeze it.Overall it’s an annoying experience and it feels like the quality control on these units is lacking. Will probably return mine.

I have owned 4 different nugget ice makers in the last 5 years, and this one--by far--is the best of all. Even compared to the GE Opal I had for 18 months, it's more reliable, quieter and requires less maintenance.
