Design Basics (with CourseMate Printed Access Card)

After just sort of skimming through the book, it looks as though everything is kosher. I read a lot of raving reviews and thus far they seem accurate. It's well structured and written for anyone wanting to learn "Design Basics".

This book was required for a class I’m taking this semester. This is really actually an interesting read. I’ve never really read any of my textbooks before but being an art book, it includes many pictures and short readable paragraphs that really make you think about the subject material. My husband, who is a professional photographer and isn’t even taking the class, is reading this book along with me because he finds it interesting as well.

Required for a class, but had used different edition of this book for a design class about 6 years ago and holds up really well. There have been updates to keep up with changing times, but the basic premises and designs that still hold true are well illustrated. Concepts and text is easy to read. Layout and progression is very good.

This has been a wonderful purchase. I’m a poor college kid who doesn’t have a lot of money and this book costs $160 new. I got it here for an amazing price and it’s basically new!

My youngest who needed this book for an online class he was taking. It worked our well for him.

I never used the thing because the teacher never assigned anything in it. But when I was flipping through it the first time I was thinking to myself this is of good quality. And I couldn't see why I wouldn't buy books from them later.

I really like this book. It's written in an easy-to-read format, which makes it easy for me to apply the principles in my designs. I also like the rental price...Update: Here's a message for ya, Amazon! Let's get the return labels down to ONE FREAKIN' PAGE PLEASE. It's a waste of ink and paper for me to have to print two pages for absolutely no reason! ridiculous.

Was delivered right on time! Reason for high stars. I am indifferent about the text book. It does reuse some artworks showing how there is always more than one thing going on in an artwork which was cool. Was also useful for my Art History Class in understanding the critique terms.

Malgré mes faiblesses en anglais, j'arrive à bien comprendre ce qui est expliqué dans cet ouvrage. C'est donc dire à quel point c'est claire! Cet ouvrage ne remplace évidemment pas des ouvrages spécialisés sur certains styles artistiques mais est une excellente base. Comme on ne peut pas bâtir une maison avant d'avoir coulé les fondations, la lecture de ce livre me semble indispensable pour bien commencer.Vraiment, je recommande!
